Mr. Chairman, Excellencies, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Let me first say how grateful I am for your invitation to speak to this distinguished audience in Karachi today and for your kind words about my family and about myself.

Perhaps I should begin by defining what I mean by the phrase “Nation States”. First it is the land area or areas over which a single government exercises authority in terms of internal administration and external defense and whose frontiers are recognized, legally or de facto, by other nation states.

At the Class of 1996 baccalaureate service, Brown President Vartan Gregorian introduced His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, leader of the Ismaili Muslims, who delivered the baccalaureate address. The University's 232nd baccalaureate service was held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, in the Meeting House of the First Baptist in America, near the Brown University campus in Providence, R.I. As the Aga Khan University Hospital marks its 60th anniversary this year, it has invested in technology and management systems to enable it meet the changing healthcare needs and retain its position in the club of the few hospitals in Africa to be accredited by world renowned bodies such as the Joint Commission and College of American Pathologists.

This is a singularly important occasion in the history of the Aga Khan University and I would like to share with you right at the beginning of these few comments, a very deep sense of happiness and elation at the way in which the School of Nursing at the Aga Khan University has progressed.

This is an occasion of real happiness for Me, because over the years, I have observed in the developing world, some really severe problems in the quality of diagnosis and the risk to which sick people are exposed through poor diagnosis or worse.

Hyderabad: The Qutb Shahi Tombs are now sporting a new look after the refurbished tombs of Taramati and Premamati were unveiled on Tuesday by US Ambassador to India Kenneth I. Juster.

2019, March 8: Princess Zahra Aga Khan has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (here near Darkhana JK) for the Inauguration of the Phase II of the Aga Khan Hospital, tomorrow around 10 AM. Yesterday she had meetings in Nairobi , Kenya at the Aga Khan University Hospital.

AKIPRESS.COM - The University of Central Asia and the Aga Khan Foundation established a milk processing workshop at Naryn State University for its new undergraduate programme on “Production Technology and Processing of Agricultural Produce”.

The workshop will provide students with practical experience, help prepare qualified experts in milk-processing in Naryn region, as well as allow for commercial sale, enabling the workshop to become fully self-sustainable, UCA said.

To do so in the presence of my old friend Brad Morse gives me particular pleasure. To me Mr. Morse is a symbol of a new pragmatism in development thinking that I sense in both the industrialized states and among the heterogeneous group of countries that are confusingly lumped together as the Third World. That term reminds me of a speaker who was explaining the role of UNDP.
