Thirtyone countries participated at the MENA Higher Education Leadership Forum in Dubai, UAE and thehonour to their organization has been received by Prof. Tashmin Khamis and Ms. Azra Naseem.

The Aga Khan Foundation is a member of the consortium of international donor agencies funding BRAC and is also an implementing agency for funding to BRAC from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Aga Khan University project to help pastoralists’ children 2022-04-28

The three-year project was launched on Wednesday April 27, by Arusha Regional Commissioner John Mongella who called on all government institutions in the region to help in supporting the project.

Posted April 13th, 2022 by librarian-hdDar es Salaam, Tanzania, 10 April 2022 – The Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam laid the foundation stone for its state-of-the-art cancer care centre, which will serve as a key hub for the innovative Tanzania Comprehensive Cancer Project (TCCP). The Project, launched by the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) in January 2020, has the goal of reducing cancer morbidity and mortality in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza.

Greek President visits Ismaili Centre, Lisbon 2022-04-03
Posted April 7th, 2022 by librarian-hdThe President of Greece, Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou, visited the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon, during her three-day trip to Portugal last week. She was welcomed to the Centre by Princess Zahra and Prince Hussain.
At the Ismaili Centre, President Sakellaropoulou also met with Portugal’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Francisco André, and leaders of the Jamat and AKDN. Ms Sakellaropoulou, the first woman to be elected President of Greece, has been in office since March 2020.

The MoU which was signed in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday opened a new beginning in health research chapter by supporting programmes which are being executed by both institutions with the aim of improving treatment and medication in Tanzania.

Lisbon, Portugal 2022-march 26:
Ismaili CIVIC Portugal hosted a blood donation campaign today at the Ismaili Centre in Lisbon. The Portuguese Minister for Health and Prince Hussain attended the pop-up clinic, organised to boost blood reserves in the country.
Service and volunteering have long been part of Ismaili tradition, as has the recognition of the sanctity of human life. In the Qur’an, it is stated that “Whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.” (5:32)

Prince Rahim Aga Khan visits Mozambique 2022-03-18
Posted March 18th, 2022 by librarian-hdPrince Rahim arrived in Maputo on Wednesday night for a three-day visit, during which he will meet senior state officials and leaders of the Jamat, and attend the inauguration ceremony of the Aga Khan Academy Maputo.
Prince Rahim’s visit began at the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Welfare for a meeting with Minister Nyeleti Brooke Mondlane. The Minister congratulated Prince Rahim on the inauguration of the Aga Khan Academy Maputo, as she fondly recalled her childhood, when she and her siblings attended Aga Khan schools in neighbouring Tanzania.
