The DXInspire Award represents the highest accolade that a CIO can receive – it is offered by the Global CIO Forum in recognition of individuals involved in path-breaking projects that have redefined Digital Transformation.

1987, November 28: President General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq inaugurated in the presence of H.H. The Aga Khan the Serena Hotel in Faisalabad. Prince Amyn Muhammad was also present on this occasion. The Faisalabad Serena Hotel is the latest addition to the Serena group of Hotels and Lodges operated by Tourism Promotion Services (TPS), the tourism arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development. This Fund was established by Mawlana Hazar Imam in 1984 to plan and implement private sector industrial and tourism projects aimed at promoting long term development in the third world.

AKU recognised for treating 300,000 people in flood areas 2022-10-05
Posted October 5th, 2022 by librarian-hdKARACHI: Sindh Minister of Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Pechuho has recognised the Aga Khan University for treating 300,000 people and distributing medicines of Rs 143 million in 42 districts of Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
“The way Aga Khan University gathered resources in a short period of time and joined the Government’s efforts to provide relief in the flood-affected areas is commendable,” said Dr Pechuho while addressing an event organised by AKU Flood Response Task Force.

Earlier ground breaking ceremonies were held for two School, Booni, and, Mastuj in district upper Chitral. The expansion will increase access to quality education and extend the school from high to higher secondary, moving (AKESP) towards its goal of providing seamless transition to students from Kindergarten to 12th Grade (K-12).

Trees to filter wastewater in Hunza 2022-06-08

AKAH, together with the local community, planted thousands of trees and aquatic plants to filter treated wastewater, limiting the release of effluent into the Hunza River. This “green infrastructure” helps improve access to sustainable, clean sanitation while also restoring the natural ecosystem.
