Karachi, (PR) : The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Best Hospital of the Year Excellence Award’ at the 12th Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Achievement Awards.

The award was presented by the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, to the AKUH, Pakistan CEO, Dr Farhat Abbas, T.I., S.I., at an award ceremony held in Islamabad on Tuesday, 8 October 2024.

As the country remains on the forefront of the climate change's impact, the Aga Khan Foundation and the Denmark embassy on Friday signed an agreement for a project to focus on improving coastal communities' resilience to climate change and mitigate climate risks.

The programme — Sindh Coastal Resilience Integrated Programme (SCRIP) — will address climate vulnerability in coastal districts where the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN)'s existing presence on the ground and strong capacity can be leveraged.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited on Monday the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) to increase its investment in Pakistan’s tourism sector.

He said this during a meeting with Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development Executive Committee Chairperson Prince Rahim Aha Khan, who called on him along with a five-member delegation, in Islamabad.

The prime minister also congratulated Prince Rahim Aga Khan on receiving the Nishan-e-Pakistan Award – the country’s highest civilian honour – from the government.
