Posted September 28th, 2024 by librarian-hdA reception at Toronto’s City Hall brought together city councillors, civic leaders, and special guests to celebrate a decade of cultural and community-building efforts in the city.
The event marked the 10th anniversary of three institutions in the city: the Aga Khan Museum, the Ismaili Centre and the Aga Khan Park, and underscored the strong relationship between the Ismaili Imamat and the City of Toronto. Prince Amyn, who serves as Board Chair of the Aga Khan Museum, is in Toronto for events to mark the museum’s 10th anniversary.

Imamat Day reception held at the Diwan of the Ismaili Imamat 2024-11-03
Posted July 13th, 2024 by librarian-hdEarlier today, Prince Amyn, Prince Hussain, and Princess Fareen attended an Imamat Day reception at the Diwan of the Ismaili Imamat, along with senior leaders of the Portuguese government, members of the diplomatic community, civil society, and Jamati and AKDN leaders.
Prince Amyn extended a warm welcome to guests at the event, which was held to commemorate Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 67th Imamat Day. He spoke of the Imamat’s partnership with Portugal to improve the lives of people.

The King and Queen are set to present trophies to the winners in the feature race of the week, the Gold Cup. The couple, who took on Queen Elizabeth II’s racing horses, have a thoroughbred entered in the King George V Stakes and will be hoping for their first Royal Ascot win of 2024.

The award recognises individuals who have rendered services of the highest distinction to Pakistan, and was given at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President’s official residence in Islamabad.
Prince Rahim Aga Khan is the elder son of Prince Karim Aga Khan, the 49th spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslim community.

Prevention, early disease detection, treatment facilities, trained medical staff and financial assistance are key to saving lives. But countries with limited resources, such as Tanzania, risk missing out on global innovations in cancer treatment.

The AKDN agencies and Kenya have closely collaborated in the fields of industry, tourism, financial services, clean energy, media, health, education, community development, and infrastructure.

U-Michigan welcomes Princess Zahra Aga Khan and Aga Khan University delegation 2023-10-31

Posted August 4th, 2023 by librarian-hdAs Pope Francis returned to the Apostolic Nunciature ahead of lunch on Friday, he held a series of brief meetings with three separate delegations, according to the Holy See Press Office.
The Pope met first with a delegation from the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID), accompanied by Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.
Pope Francis then held a private audience with Rahim Aga Khan, son of the leader of the Ismaili community, which has its center in Lisbon.

Centro Ismaili: 25 years of a Lisbon landmark 2023-07-12

Members of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s family and President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa were present to mark this milestone moment for the Jamat in Portugal.
Prince Amyn, Prince Rahim, and Prince Aly Muhammad joined guests to celebrate a momentous occasion — 25 years of the Centro Ismaili, Lisboa. Since opening in 1998, the building has stood tall, embodying the principles of pluralism, knowledge sharing, and dialogue.

Prince Amyn represented Hazar Imam at the unveiling of a plaque at the Great Stables and the “His Highness the Aga Khan Road” sign. Also present were Princess Zahra, Prince Hussain, Prince Aly Muhammad, and Hazar Imam’s grandson, Iliyan. Prince Amyn delivered a speech including a message of gratitude from Mawlana Hazar Imam.

Simultaneous ceremonies were held in Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and broadcast online to an international audience of AKU's friends and supporters. Princess Zahra Aga Khan attended the ceremony in Karachi and shared a message from His Highness the Aga Khan, Founder and Chancellor of the University. Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah was the Chief Guest.
