8 Pakistani women named in 100 outstanding nurses and midwives global list
Posted December 29th, 2020 by librarian-hdEight Pakistani nurses and midwives have been honoured in the global 100 Outstanding Women Nurse and Midwife Leaders 2020 list.
The healthcare workers have been acknowledged by Women in Global Health (WGH), which collaborated with the World Health Organisation (WHO), United Nations Population Fund, Nursing Now, International Council of Nurses and International Confederation of Midwives on the list.
All eight nurses and midwives from Pakistan are faculty or alumni of the Aga Khan University’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, SONAM.

Aga Khan University unveils CoronaCheck self-screening app 2020-04-10
Posted April 10th, 2020 by librarian-hdThe Aga Khan University has launched a new mobile application, ‘CoronaCheck’, enabling people to safely evaluate coronavirus symptoms with an in-home screening tool of the application.
According to an official statement, the app uses an interactive chatbot, driven by artificial intelligence, which allows users to understand their symptoms and recognise whether they may have contracted COVID-19 or not. With the app providing help promptly, it also aims to identify potential coronavirus carriers and limit their risk of transmission.

The Jaffria Allience Pakistan organised a majlis at the Nishtar Park. The programme was presided over by Syed Razi Jaffer Naqvi. Provincial local government and information minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh Assembly opposition leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar were among the guests. The programme was moderated by Haider Abbas.

AKU ranked among world's top 100 universities for clinical medicine

The Aga Khan University (AKU) has been placed among the top 100 universities for clinical medicine and the top 200 for public health in the world.
The rankings were published by the Academic Ranking of World Universities, also known as ShanghaiRanking, which is an annual publication of worldwide university rankings.
In ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2019, AKU is the only Pakistani university featured among the top 500 institutes for clinical medicine and public health.

Aga Khan University Wins Medical Quiz Contest 2019-06-19

This institution which was established in 1932, is doing very useful work by providing fees and books to deserving students. The honorary workers of the Union, with great efforts and in details, carried out an educational survey of their area in order to determine the needs and requirements of Ismaili Students. They have also underway a scheme to start a mass educational centre.
