It is a tremendous pleasure for myself and my fellow trustees to be in Karachi this evening surrounded by so many dedicated and loyal friends of the University.

The Global Pluralism Award recognizes pluralism in action. Presented every other year to individuals, organisations, governments and businesses from around the world, the Award celebrates the inspiring and brave work that is helping to build more inclusive societies where diversity is valued and protected.  

Princess Zahra, Board Member for the Global Centre for Pluralism, attended the Global Pluralism Award ceremony held in Ottawa on November 14.

The Global Pluralism Award recognizes pluralism in action and celebrates the inspiring and brave work that is helping to build more inclusive societies where diversity is valued and protected.

Winners were selected by a jury of international experts from a range of disciplines and backgrounds, including foreign affairs, philanthropy and human rights.

The University of Michigan welcomed Princess Zahra Aga Khan and representatives from Aga Khan University‘s campuses in Pakistan and Kenya on Oct. 30.

Senior leadership from both universities formally signed a memorandum of understanding, powered by a $900,000 gift from AKU to U-M to expand ongoing collaborative efforts.

Princess Zahra Aga Khan (born 18 September 1970 in Geneva, Switzerland) is the eldest child of Aga Khan IV and his first wife, Princess Salimah Aga Khan.

The Group I Coronation Stakes (1m) for three year-old fillies delivered another Group I winner at the meeting for champion French stallion Siyouni with his star filly Tahiyra backing up the form of her last start win in the Irish 1000 Guineas.

A homebred for the Aga Khan trained by Dermot Weld, Tahiyra was ridden by Chris Hayes and won by a length over Kingman filly Remarquee with third place going to another Kingman filly Sounds of Heaven, part-owned by her Australian breeder John Camilleri.

It was 18th June 1983 when Azzurra took part in her first race in the Challenger Series of the 25th America’s Cup in Newport, Rhode Island. The opponent that day was France III and victory went to Azzurra, the first in a long series of wins that would take the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda’s 12 Metre yacht all the way to the semi-finals of the qualification stage.

Princess Zahra attended a commencement ceremony for the Aga Khan University’s Kampala campus today — marking the start of an exciting new chapter in its history, as the University establishes a long-term future in Uganda.

Construction is underway on a new 60-acre Aga Khan University (AKU) campus in Uganda’s bustling capital, signifying a pivotal milestone in the University’s 40-year history.

In her address to the gathering, Princess Zahra Aga Khan delivered a message from Hazar Imam – Chancellor and Founder of the Aga Khan University – on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary celebration of the Aga Khan University a three-fold celebration: AKU’s 40th anniversary; the inaugural Founder’s Day commemoration; and the success of AKU’s Class of 2022.. Shamiyana structures were set up at AKU’s campus in Karachi — and across similar stages at AKU’s campuses in Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, and Kampala.

The Aga Khan University on Saturday celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2022, its first-ever Founder's Day and the University's 40th anniversary. Simultaneous ceremonies were held in Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and broadcast online to an international audience of AKU's friends and supporters. Princess Zahra Aga Khan attended the ceremony in Karachi and shared a message from His Highness the Aga Khan, Founder and Chancellor of the University. Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah was the Chief Guest.

Princess Zahra Aga Khan was presented with the Cartier Three-Year-Year-Old Colt Award by the Racing Post's Alan Btrne for Vadeni, who captured the Group 1 Qatar Prix du Jockey Club-French Derby and the Coral-Eclipse in addition to finishing second in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The colt will remain in trainig.

1995, November 13: Princess Zahra addressed the charity function held at Grosvenor Hotel, London where the theme was "Water for Life". In her speech, Princess Zahra said; "Investing in women yields high returns, both for themselves and for the generations to come" . Hazar Imam, in a message conveyed through Princess Zahra, said; "Through the voice of My daughter, and at the end of her speech, I want to associate Myself with the gratitude and respect she expressed for all those who have contributed to the mission of the Aga Khan Foundation.
