Hazdann
put his previous experience to good use as he ran out a game winner of the Barronstown Stud Irish EBF (C & G) Maiden at the
Curragh
.
Derby hero City Of Troy made a winning racecourse bow in the seven-furlong heat last year and much of the attention was centred on his fellow Aidan O’Brien-trained runner Rock Of Cashel on his first trip to the track.

A Wootton Bassett half-brother to Snowfall, Rock Of Cashel was sent off the 7-4 favourite under Ryan Moore but never really looked like taking a hand in the finish, coming home eighth behind 10-1 Hazdann.

Calandagan dominated the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes (2400m) on Friday, becoming the first French-trained winner at Royal Ascot since Watch Me in the 2019 Coronation Stakes.

Like Watch Me, Calandagan was sent over by Francis-Henri Graffard, who trains the son of Gleneagles for his owner/breeder HH The Aga Khan.

With an outside draw in 13, Stephane Pasquier rode a quiet race on Calandagan. The partnership came wide in the straight and powered away to win by six lengths, with Space Legend and Royal Supremacy filling the places.

There was a thrilling finish in the French 1000 Guineas as Rouhiya gave Maxime Guyon his second victory in the French Classic for trainer Francis-Henri Graffard.

Kathmandu was agonisingly denied Emirates Poule d'Essai des Pouliches glory as Rouhiya pulled out extra to ensure the Classic prize remained on home soil at ParisLongchamp.

Owned by the Aga Khan, the winner was much improved on her previous outing over the track and trip in April, making rapid strides in her first race at the highest level.

With longer lifespans comes an increase in cancer rates. Pollutants in air, food and water, and a shift away from protective traditional diets, are also causing higher rates of cancer in East Africa.

Prevention, early disease detection, treatment facilities, trained medical staff and financial assistance are key to saving lives. But countries with limited resources, such as Tanzania, risk missing out on global innovations in cancer treatment.
