Prince Rahim Aga Khan today met with Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Federation in Bern, to discuss cooperation between Switzerland and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in countries and regions of shared interest. The Swiss Federation has been a longstanding partner of the AKDN across a wide range of fields, including the fight against climate change, development cooperation in multiple sectors, and humanitarian response. Prince Rahim Aga Khan today met with Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Federation to discuss cooperation between Switzerland and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in countries and regions of shared interest.

Prince Rahim represented Mawlana Hazar Imam at the Coronation ceremony in London earlier today as Charles III and Camilla were crowned King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Faith leaders, heads of state, and dignitaries from across the world were present to witness the ceremony, full of colour and symbolism.

Among the esteemed guests was Prince Rahim, who attended at the request of Mawlana Hazar Imam, in continuation of a historic tradition — in 1937, Mawlana Sultan Mahomed Shah attended the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

"The museum serves as a link, not only reuniting Humayun's Tomb and Sunder Nursery, but also bridging the gap between history and the present day," said Prince Rahim Aga Khan.

Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the sprawling 100,000 square feet state of the art – Humayun’s Tomb World Heritage Site Museum at the Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage site in New Delhi, today. The inauguration event was graced by the presence of Prince Rahim Aga Khan, dignitaries and esteemed guest from the Ministry of Culture, the Archaeological Survey of India and others.

The Museum is a facility of the Archaeological Survey of India designed and built in collaboration with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC).

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,

May I begin by extending my gratitude to the government and people of India and Telangana for their warm welcome and hospitality.

This magnificent ensemble of pavilions, gardens, stepwells, and mausolea within viewing distance of the Golconda Fort is, first of all, a testament to the skill, talent, and ingenuity of the people of this city and their forebears.

Prince Rahim and Prince Aly Muhammad began a visit to India yesterday at the Aga Khan Hostel and Aga Khan Academy in Hyderabad, meeting staff and students to hear about their experiences.

Education has long been a central theme of AKDN’s work in India. The first Aga Khan school was founded in Mundra, Kutch in 1905. During Mawlana Sultan Mohammed Shah’s Diamond Jubilee in the 1940s, more schools were established in India and Pakistan, particularly for girls.

NEW DELHI: The Humayun World Heritage Site Museum, set to be inaugurated on July 29, brings to life the 700 years of pluralistic cultural traditions of the ancient city’s historic neighbourhoods– Nizamuddin, named after 13th century Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.

Hunza, Pakistan, 8 June 2024 – Prince Rahim Aga Khan today visited Hunza district in Gilgit-Baltistan to launch the development of Duiker Phase II and Nasirabad Solar Power Plants with a total capacity of 3.6 MWp.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited on Monday the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) to increase its investment in Pakistan’s tourism sector.

He said this during a meeting with Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development Executive Committee Chairperson Prince Rahim Aha Khan, who called on him along with a five-member delegation, in Islamabad.

The prime minister also congratulated Prince Rahim Aga Khan on receiving the Nishan-e-Pakistan Award – the country’s highest civilian honour – from the government.

Through a partnership between the Special Communications Organisation (SCO) and the Aga Khan Foundation, Pakistan (AKF-P), the new software technology park in Nasirabad, Hunza will support the sustainable development of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) by providing uninterrupted power supply, high-speed internet, and a co-working space for small and growing start-ups, freelancers, and chambers of commerce.

The Nasirabad Software Technology Park will act as the central resource for a hub and spokes model linking other IT facilities in more remote areas of the region.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, today conferred the Nishan-i-Pakistan, the nation’s highest civilian award, on Prince Rahim.
