AKIPRESS.COM - Dr. Barkat Fazal, the incoming Diplomatic Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in the Kyrgyz Republic, presented copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev earlier today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bishkek.

The two sides discussed on-going collaboration between the AKDN and the Kyrgyz Republic in various sectors, including education, access to financial services, rural development, and culture, as part of their efforts to improve the quality of life of the peoples in the country.

AKIPRESS.COM - The opening ceremony of a parental resource center in the Naryn District Library named after E. Ibraev took place in Naryn on August 21, the Aga Khan Foundation reports.

The opening of the center was made possible thanks to a joint initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation and the Aga Khan Academy, which are both agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network.

AKIPRESS.COM - The seasonal shortage of irrigation water in the Aiyl Aymak of Birlik, Kadamjay district of Batken oblast, was solved with the help of the Aga Khan Foundation's project “Improving Stability and Better Natural Resources Management in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan” and implemented with the support of the British Government (UK Aid), Aga Khan Foundation said.

Bishkek, 28-29 October 2006 - His Highness the Aga Khan made a brief visit to Bishkek where he met with a wide range of Kyrgyz leaders, including President Kurmanbek Bakiev, Prime Minister Feliks Kulov and senior parliamentarians. During the visit, the Aga Khan discussed new opportunities for local and regional economic development, as well as expansion of social development initiatives currently underway in various provinces of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Earlier this month, Prince Aly Muhammad completed a five-day, private visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, during which he visited the Naryn campus of the University of Central Asia. Prince Aly Muhammad spent time with students in Naryn to understand more about their backgrounds and aspirations.

“I was deeply inspired by the students and faculty I had the opportunity to meet during this trip. Getting to know so many talented students and learning more about the UCA’s mission has been exciting and deeply rewarding,” explained Prince Aly.

President Almazbek Atambayev awards Prince Karim Aga Khan IV the Danaker Order | Kabar - Kyrgyz

BISHKEK (TCA) — The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Aga Khan Foundation and Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation in Kyrgyzstan have joined forces to support the most vulnerable households in Chon Alai district of Osh oblast in south Kyrgyzstan affected by the earthquakes of May 2017, the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic said on June 28.

The President congratulations says:

Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic, 19 October 2016 - As part of AKDN’s broader commitment to the Naryn area, the Aga Khan Trust for Culture rehabilitated the Seitaaly Jakypov Park, creating space for leisure, play and exercise. On 19 October 2016, Naryn Governor Amanbay Kayipov joined Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov and His Highness the Aga Khan to officially open the rehabilitated park.

NARYN, Kyrgyzstan (TCA) — The University of Central Asia (UCA), created to be a catalyst for social and economic development in the region’s mountain societies, on 19 October officially opened its first campus in Naryn, Kyrgyzstan.

Bishkek, October 18 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with visiting Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the Kyrgyz President's press office reports.

At the beginning of the meeting President Atambayev awarded Prince Karim Aga Khan IV the Danaker Order for public activities and the implementation of socio-economic projects in Kyrgyzstan. The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan appreciates the work of the Aga Khan Development Network and attaches great importance to further strengthening of cooperation with the Organization.

Cholpon-Ata, September 6 / Kabar /. Representing His Highness the Aga Khan, Prince Rahim Aga Khan attended the official opening of the Second World Nomad Games, 2016, at the invitation of H.E. President Almazbek Atambayev. He was amongst 30 other Heads of Delegations, which included Heads of Republics, Ministers and other high level dignitaries, Aga Khan Development Network Representation Office in Bishkek reports.
