Yacht Club Costa Smeralda Sporting Season set to launch 2021-05-25

For the first time, the traditional YCCS event was held online, with a live stream from the Azzurra Lounge at the Club's Porto Cervo headquarters which, in addition to members, was open to all journalists, guests and supporters wishing to take part. A recording of the event will remain available on the YCCS YouTube channel.

As in many paradise gardens, particularly those inspired by Islamic culture, a fountain lies at the heart of the quadrilateral garden created inside the Aga Khan Centre gallery in King’s Cross, London. This fountain doesn’t spout water, however, but beautiful, intricate strips of paper with laser-cut flowers made by Berlin-based American artist Clare Celeste Börsch.

Prince Karim Aga Khan acquires Gwadar for Pakistan 1958-09-08
Posted May 7th, 2021 by librarian-hdReportedly, 2400 square miles of the Gwadar area came under the domain of the Sultan of Oman in 1947. It was administered by Great Britain, and fifty percent of the revenue from the area went to the Sultan. Eventually, an American company identified Gwadar’s potential as a deep port. Through this port, 25 varieties of fish could be exported in significant quantities every year.
The Shah of Iran tried to acquire this land through the US’ influence in Britain, but in 1956, Pakistani Foreign Minister Malik Feroze Khan Noon decided that this land had to be acquired at all costs.

Aga Khan Foundation, firm launch new health campaign 2021-05-03
Posted May 4th, 2021 by librarian-hdThe Aga Khan Foundation Uganda and Triggerise, a non-profit company that developed the user-centric digital platform, TIKO, have launched a new campaign in Kampala and Arua to increase youth’s access to reproductive health services.
The purpose: empower young people with relevant information to fight unplanned teenage pregnancies.
The new campaign in the two cities is jointly bankrolled by the Aga Khan Foundation UK and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation.

The Accords acknowledge the Aga Khan Development Network's contribution in the region. At the signing ceremony in Nairobi, President Moi of Kenya commended the institutions of the Development Network for actively serving Kenya in the fields of education and health for more than 50 years. "They were among the pioneers who opened up their institutions to people of all races and religion long before independence" Moi said.

Qutub Shahi Tombs: 60 pc renovation work completed, a unique heritage park on card 2021-04-16
Posted April 17th, 2021 by librarian-hdHyderabad: The 16th Century Qutub Shahi Tombs are one of the main tourist attraction in the city. A heritage park is being added as a new chapter to this attraction.
The unique heritage park is likely to come up on 106 acres of land with the joint efforts of Aga Khan Foundation, Heritage Telangana and Aga Khan Trust for Culture.
A project is underway to preserve and restore 40 tombs, three mosques, seven wells, and other buildings. The first phase of this grand program of repair and renovation has been completed in 2018 and now the last phase of this program is underway.
