On August 8, 2017, Asia Society announced this year's recipients of the Asia Game Changer Awards, which recognize those making a transformative and positive difference for the future of Asia and the world. Asia Society is proud to partner with Citi to honor these extraordinary individuals and organizations, continuing a tradition begun with the inauguration of the Asia Game Changer Awards four years ago.

On September 10, Friends of the Domaine de Chantilly (FODC) hosted a memorable day at Chantilly, one of the most magnificent French heritage sites, located just 25 miles north of Paris. Prince Amyn Aga Khan, Chairman of FODC, welcomed guests upon their arrival and spoke at length about Chantilly’s rich history, unrivaled art collection, and beautiful gardens before leading everyone into the castle.

Universidade NOVA de Lisboa in Portugal is honouring Mawlana Hazar Imam with a doctorate honoris causa that was presented to him on Thursday, 20 July 2017.

In his acceptance remarks, Hazar Imam said, "I have always felt at home in Portugal and now ever more so since the signing in 2015 of an historic agreement between the Ismaili Imamat and the Portuguese Republic to establish the Seat of the Ismaili Imamat in this country. An important milestone in the 1400 year history of the Ismaili Imamat."

July 11, 2017 will mark the 60th anniversary of the ascension to the throne of Imamat by His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan who is the 49th Holy Imam in direct lineage from the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s)

Prince Karim dedicated his life to the spiritual and material upliftment of all his Ismaili Murids. He has also pledged to improve the quality of life of the people amongst whom his followers lived and the countries in which they lived.

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 8 June 2017 - Princess Zahra Aga Khan and Dr. Dorothy Gwajima, Acting Director of Curative Services at the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children today jointly opened a new state-of-the-art laboratory and a low cost inpatient unit at the Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam.

The Architectural League of New York has announced the recipient of its 2017 President’s Medal: His Highness the Aga Khan, the 49th hereditary Imam (Spiritual Leader) of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Aga Khan Award in Architecture – an annual award established to celebrate building concepts that have successfully addressed the needs of Muslim communities from around the world.

Princess Zahra Aga Khan, the daughter of Prince Karim Aga Khan met with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in ARG Palace today and reaffirmed continued support to the Aga Khan Development Network to Afghanistan.

According to the informed sources, Princess Zahra, the head of the social welfare of the Aga Khan Development Network, was accompanied by a delegation of the network during her visit to ARG Palace.

​The Aga Khan University Hospital has opened two new medical centres to provide consulting clinics, vaccination, radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services in Lahore, Rawalpindi and surrounding areas in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

H.H. The Aga Khan celebrated his 80th birthday with his family on 13th December 2016. On 16th December, the LIF invited Mowlana Hazar Imam to a birthday party in Aiglemont. members of the Noorani family also attended: Prince Amyn, Prince Rahim, Princess Salwa, Prince Irfan, Princess Zahra.and Prince Hussain were in attendance.

On that occasion, Mowlana Hazar Imam said:

US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke Saturday of the need for the world to stand firm against authoritarian populism and for the rule of law as he received France's highest decoration.

At the onset of his remarks, Secretary Kerry paid tribute to His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan for being an influential champion for peace around the world.

The Aga Khan Award for Architecture is given every three years to projects that set new standards of excellence in architecture, planning practices, historic preservation and landscape architecture.
