Aga Khan Receives David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership Award 2012-10-22
Posted October 25th, 2012 by librarian-hdLondon, 22 October 2012 - As part of the Synergos Institute's University for a Night series, His Highness the Aga Khan was awarded the David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership Award at a ceremony in London.
David Rockefeller, in a letter addressed to the Aga Khan which was read to the audience, described the reasons for awarding this honour: “Through the Aga Khan Development Network, you have leveraged the social conscience of Islam in ways that benefit people of all faiths, promoting tolerance, pluralism and broad-based development.”

Aga Khan inaugurates Construction of Obstetrics Facility in Kabul 2012-10-20

The Foundation Ceremony of the new Women’s Wing at the French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC) today, marked the start of construction for a new obstetrics and gynaecology wing on the hospital premises that will provide high quality care for mothers and newborns in Afghanistan. The building, which will take 24 months to complete, will offer 52 additional beds for obstetric and gynecologic care and a 14-bed neonatal intensive care unit — the first in Afghanistan.

Established in 2002, the school is part of a network of over 250 schools managed by the Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) in East Africa, South Asia and Central Asia and provides close to 500 students with quality learning experiences in an environment which values diversity, and responds creatively to the educational needs of children.

Aga Khan at the 2012 Qatar Prix de l' Arc d'Triomphe
Posted October 6th, 2012 by librarian-hdDalkala won the 5th Race for H.H. The Aga Khan on the Opening day of the 2012 Arc d'Triomphe at Longchamps. This 5th Race - the Qatar Prix de Royallieu - had the highest winners' purse in the amount of 250,000.00 euros for this day.
The Aga Khan's racing colors were represented by 4 horses in Races 2,3, 5 and 6 with the jockey for all races being CP Lemaire.
Race 2 horse was Verema, Race 3 had Sarkiyla, Race 5 was run by the winner Dalkala and Race 6 was run by Parisham.

Posted June 20th, 2011 by heritageThe latest occurrence in the Copyright Lawsuit is that a Jamati Member who has never met the Defendants volunteered as his brotherly duty to pay the $30,000 that was demanded in the Plaintiff''s submissions and that was accordingly ordered by the judge.
Mr Chatur wrote to the Imam: "I am making this payment from my own personal funds, and on behalf of my two spiritual brothers, out of love, brotherhood and affection. I do not know Alnaz Jiwa or Nagib Tajdin personally nor have I ever met them. I shall look forward to meeting them."

He was also awarded the UCSF Medal, the University’s equivalent of an honorary degree, by Chancellor Susan Desmond-Hellmann, MD, MPH.
