Sir Aga Khan bridge on River Indus inaugurated at Jhirk

The longest bridge on the Indus River in Pakistan, the 1.7 kilometre-long Sir Aga Khan Bridge, was inaugurated by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Jhirk-Mulakatiar on Monday.
He said the PPP was the first government to take up the issue of providing clean drinking water to the people of Sindh.

Failing city: Children return from school to grief-stricken parents 2015-05-13

The children of alAzhar Gardens, a gated community of Ismailis, who went to school on Wednesday morning had no idea they will be received by grief-stricken parents on their return.
Several parents were huddled near the community’s gates as the school vans started rolling in. But someone had already told the children about the tragedy and they jumped off the bus with looks of pure terror on their faces. “How many died?” a boy asked his mother.
