I would like to take this occasion to express My deep gratitude to all those who have supported this institution and who are continuing to support it today.

Karachi, Pakistan, December 15, 2017: The Aga Khan University’s Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME), a state-of-the-art facility for technology-based learning for health professionals, was inaugurated today by His Highness the Aga Khan, Chancellor of AKU.

Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili community, on Friday inaugurated the Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME), a state-of-the-art facility for technology-based learning for health professionals, at the Aga Khan University.

In his inaugural address, Prince Karim Aga Khan, who is also the Chancellor of the AKU, acknowledged the many contributions made towards the advancement of healthcare in the country. He, however, stated that the civil society was underserved in education in Pakistan.

The aim of the centre is to transform education of health professionals through the use of simulation and virtual reality technology to develop knowledge and skills, a statement quoted the CIME director Dr Charles Docherty as saying.

KARACHI: Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, was accorded a warm reception on his arrival here on Thursday.

The Aga Khan was received at Quaid-i-Azam International Airport by Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The governor and the chief minister later held a meeting with him at the airport’s lounge and exchanged views with him on the topics of mutual interest. Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon and Inspector General of Sindh Police A.D. Khowaja were present on the occasion.

CHITRAL: Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader and 49th Imam of the Shia Ismaili community, visited on Saturday the Chitral district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He addressed his followers, who had gathered in thousands at Garam Chashma and Boni areas.

BOONI: The Aga Khan blessed his followers with Darbar and Didar today at Booni Chitral.

ISLAMABAD: His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad today (December 7) for an official visit to the country on the invitation of the Government of Pakistan.

While in Pakistan, Aga Khan is expected to meet with President Mamnoon Hussain as well as Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, besides other government officials.

Chitral .. The scheduled visit to Chitral of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of twenty million Ismaili Muslims is awaited with much reverence and enthusiasm in this highland district.

The Aga Khan is not only holy to the Ismailis but muslims from all sects respect and regard him as a benevolent personality who has served humanity in his capacity without any discrimination.

He has always presented a pleasant and amicable face of Islam in international forums.
