“Today, we join millions of Shia Ismaili Muslims in Canada and around the world to celebrate the 87th birthday of their spiritual leader, His Highness the Aga Khan.

Today December 13, 2022 our beloved Hazar Imam celebrates his 86th birthday. Born in Geneva in 1936 to Prince Aly S. Khan and Tajudowlah Princess Joan

Shia Ismaili Muslims across the country are commemorating the 86th birth anniversary of their spiritual leader Prince Karim Aga Khan IV known for his philanthropic work, defending Muslims and promoting peace and pluralism across the world.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PTI Chairman Imran Khan also send warm greetings.

The Prime Minister expressed his greeting on Twitter and stated that he acknowledges and appreciates his wonderful contributions to the cause of education and socio-economic development in Pakistan and around the world.

His Highness the Aga Khan became Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims on July 11, 1957 at the age of 20, succeeding his grandfather, Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan. He is the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims and a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) through his cousin and son-in-law, Ali, the first Imam, and his wife Fatima, the Prophet’s daughter.
