National Bank of Pakistan Aitemaad Islamic Banking Group signed the 'Bancatakaful' agreement with Jubilee Life Insurance Window Takaful Operations which is the largest life insurance company in the private sector of Pakistan. The agreement was signed in a ceremony held at NBP's Head Office to commemorate the partnership in the wake of the expanding market for Bancatakaful products.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2019 ) :National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) Wednesday signed Grant Implementation Agreement of Rs 834.606 million with a Joint Venture of Agha Khan Foundation (AKF) Pakistan and Aga Khan Planning and Building Services (AKPBS).

The agreement had been made by NDRMF for providing grant financing up to Rs 579.621 million for the project titled "Promoting Integrated Mountain Safety in Northern Pakistan (PIMSNP)", a press release said.

Established in 2017 the AKAH includes the legacy programs and initiatives of the Aga Khan Planning and Building Services (AKPBS) including Water Sanitation Extension Program (WASEP), FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance, the Disaster Risk Management Initiative (DRMI), the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), and the Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan Fund for the Environment (PSAKFE). It also includes the habitat related activities of Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) and the Mountain Societies’ Development Support Program (MSDSP). The latter is operating in Tajikistan’s Gorno Badakhshan Oblast.

The two-day event was participated by 16 teams of students, representing different medical colleges and universities from across the country.

The semi-final round of the competition was won, after a tough contest, by the teams of AKU, JSMU, Liaqat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).

The government of Pakistan has designated 2019 as the year of nursing. Recognising their role in promoting universal healthcare and safeguarding women’s rights, the government is working to enhance the role and voices of nurses and midwives in making a health policy. These views were expressed by speakers at the Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) at an event held on Friday in honour of International Midwives’ Day and International Nurses Day. The former is commemorated on May 5 and the latter on May 12 annually across the globe.

LAHORE: The conservation of the western side of the world’s largest picture wall which is located at Lahore Fort has been completed by Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) in partnership Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), Pakistan Today has learnt.

It is pertinent to mention here that the conservation work was started in January 2018 in which experts from different countries of the world worked.

LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) on Tuesday organised another session of ‘Meet the Expert’ during which conservationists and architects briefed participants on conservation methodologies of the picture wall of Lahore Fort that also happens to be the world’s largest picture wall, Pakistan Today has learnt.

WCLA had invited students and faculty members from all universities of Lahore which have architecture, history, fine arts and social sciences departments. Almost 200 participants were present in the session which was held here at the summer palace of Lahore Fort.

Pfizer Pakistan Ltd (Pfizer) has entered in to a partnership with The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) for self-funded patients and The Patient Behbud Society for AKUH (PBS) to provide access to quality targeted therapy treatment to cancer patients without financial means. Patients suffering from gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), metastatic renal cell carcinoma (MRCC) and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNET) will benefit from the partnership. The announcement came during an official signing ceremony held at the University Hospital premises in Karachi.
