The Sindh Police and Aga Khan Hospital and Medical College Foundation on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under which the hospital would be providing medical facilities to all the employees of Sindh Police.

The MoU was signed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon and Interim CEO of Aga Khan Hospital, in a simple ceremony held at Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi.

On Tuesday, Habib Bank Limited (PSX: HBL) informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that its sponsor, the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), has shown its interest to buy additional shares in the bank against an investment of Rs. 3.53 billion.

According to the stock filing, AKFED has informed HBL vide its letter dated May 1, 2023, of its intention to acquire additional shares of the commercial bank from the open market by utilizing the accumulated dividends that have not been repatriated, amounting to Rs. 3,534,747,825.

GILGIT: The winter sports festival, with colourful performances by local athletes and artists, concluded in Gulkin village of Hunza.

The venue of the event was Attabad lake, however, later it was shifted to Gulkin village in Gojal. The event attracted local people and tourists amid freezing temperature. The event was organised by GB Tourism Department to promote winter tourism in the region and for revival of indigenous games. Iqbal Hussain, director of GB Tourism Department told Dawn that the concept of arranging the seven-day event was derived from the snow leopard.

At the Park Center Ice Ground in Upper Chitral, a hockey tournament was staged for the first time ever in Pakistani history.
The girls’ teams from several academies in Upper Chitral battled against the boys’ teams during the uncommon ice hockey event.

Eight teams altogether, made up of both boys and girls, took part in the competition.

The match between the Fox and Snow Leopard teams, which the latter won by three goals, was officiated by Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon, who was present with her daughter.
