Mawlana Hazar Imam commended the achievement in a message being shared via The Ismaili.

“I send my warm congratulations to Devin Wardrope for representing Canada in the 2026 Winter Olympics this week in Milan Cortina. His passion for luge and dedication to training for over a decade is commendable and shows that when a young person works hard anything is possible. Devin’s achievements are a source of pride for our Jamat, and an inspiration to us all. Bravo to Devin and his luge partner Cole Zajanski for their excellent performance.”

As I complete the first year of my Imamat, I have been deeply touched by the warm messages of congratulations received from around the world.

I convey my heartfelt thanks to the numerous world leaders and partners of the Ismaili Imamat and our institutions who have welcomed me during the past year. Their enduring friendship is a source of happiness and pride.

His Majesty King Charles III hosted a dinner at Windsor Castle in honour of Mowlana Hazar Imam, celebrating the first anniversary of Hazar Imam's accession to the Ismaili Imamat. Earlier also, Hazar Imam met with Prince William at Kensington Palace, concluding His visit to the United Kingdom.

Earlier Hazar Imam graced the United Kingdom Jamat with Holy Didar as the 50th Imam.

Hazar Imam also signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ismaili Imamat and the United Kingdom government.

Hazar Imam and His entire family was also hosted to a dinner by His Majesty King Charles III.

Charles welcomed the the 50th hereditary Imam of the world’s millions of Ismaili Muslims to the royal residence in Berkshire on Wednesday evening.

The two were pictured side by side in the castle’s Grand Corridor, with the King dressed in his distinctive Windsor Coat dinner jacket with scarlet collar and cuffs. 2026-01-04

On 3 December, Mawlana Hazar Imam granted a didar for the Jamats of Portugal and Spain.

The Mukhi of Darkhana submitted bayʿa to the Imam on behalf of the Jamat, and President of the Ismaili Council Yasmin Bhudarally delivered a loyalty address.

In his Farman, Mawlana Hazar Imam said that he was sorry to hear about the President of Portugal’s ill-health, and extended best wishes for a speedy recovery on behalf of his family and the Jamat.

Earlier today, Wednesday December 3rd, 2025, Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, to begin a three day visit to meet with the Jamats of Portugal and Spain.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Houston, Texas, earlier today, marking his first official visit to the United States of America as our 50th Imam. He was accompanied by Prince Amyn, Prince Hussain and Prince Aly Muhammad.

Hazar Imam was received by the Honorable Carol McCutcheon, Sugar Land’s Mayor; Rick Miller, the Mayor Pro Tem of Sugar Land; Al-Karim Alidina, President of the Ismaili Council for USA and a delegation of Jamati leaders.

The Aga Khan Music Programme today announced the eleven winners of the prestigious 2025 Aga Khan Music Awards, which will be held in the United Kingdom for the first time later this month.

The Awards honour individuals, groups, and institutions whose work sustains and reimagines living musical heritage shaped by Islam while promoting spiritual insight, community vitality, and cultural resilience.

Chicago, US | THE INDEPENDENT | Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslim community and head of one of the world’s most diverse transnational networks, marked his 54th birthday on Sunday by completing the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. The Ismaili Imam finished the 26.2-mile (42.2 km) race in just under five hours, joining tens of thousands of participants at one of the world’s premier distance-running events.

The Muslim Council of Elders and Mawlana Hazar Imam held a meeting in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Sunday 19 October to enhance joint cooperation in promoting interfaith and intercultural dialogue, empowering youth, fostering moderation, and raising awareness on the ethical use of artificial intelligence to serve humanity. Hazar Imam was accompanied by Prince Aly Muhammad.

Cairo, Egypt, 30 September 2025 – His Highness the Aga Khan met today with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss current and future collaboration in Egypt, exploring ways to strengthen partnerships that benefit local communities and advance development. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Luis Monreal, General Manager of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, also attended the meeting.

Darkhana in Kampala was the site of a milestone moment on 12 September 2025, as Mawlana Hazar Imam graced the Jamat in Uganda with didar.

Mawlana Hazar Imam conveyed guidance and blessings to the Jamat across the world, and expressed thanks to volunteers for their efforts to organise the visit. He showered blessings on the Jamat and reminded us of his immense love and affection. Hazar Imam later granted a separate mulaqat to young members of the Jamat at Kololo Jamatkhana in Kampala.

This prestigious international architecture award is presented once every three years, with a total prize fund of $1 million.
