The Aga Khan Music Awards recognise outstanding creativity, promising talent and initiative in the fields of performance, creation, education, preservation and musical revitalisation in societies where Muslims have a significant presence. Awarded by the Aga Khan Music Initiative, prizes will be presented during a three-day free-entry ceremony that includes concerts, competitions and conferences.

Hazar Imam attended Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey, London today March 11, 2019. In attendance also were dignitaries from all Commonwealth countries and the British Royal Family. Hazar Imam's family also attended including Princess Zahra, Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa.

The Commonwealth represents 53 countries and almost 2.4 billion people and 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth, enabling cooperation towards social, political and economic development.

SEATTLE — The University of Washington today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Aga Khan University to codify partnership activities already underway and to leverage complementary strengths to further expand research, service and education in low- and middle-income countries.

I would wish to begin my closing remarks by first of all expressing my sincere thanks and deep feeling of gratitude on behalf of everyone connected to the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and from myself to the President of the Republic of Syria and to the Prime Minister and his Government for the most generous, thoughtful and constructive way in which they have enabled the Aga Khan Award for Architecture to hold its prize-giving ceremony and related events here in Aleppo.

As delegates from across the world converge in Nairobi for the ongoing blue economy conference which started on Monday, Prince Hussain Aga Khan is hosting a fine arts exhibition at the sidelines of the forum to promote environment conservation.

The exhibition depicts photos of marine and oceanic ecosystems from all over the globe.

Hazar Imam sent a special message of joy and happiness to world-wide Jamats announcing the engagement of His beloved son, Prince Hussain to Miss Elizabeth Hoag who had adopted the name Fareen upon embracing Islam.

The message said "It is with special happiness that I am writing to inform My Jamat that my beloved second son, Prince Hussain, is engaged to be married to Miss Elizabeth Hoag, who has adopted the name Fareen upon embracing Islam. It is expected that they will marry in the spring of 2019.

Regional cooperation and a commitment to pluralism are key to a country’s national development and stability, says Aga Khan

Geneva, Switzerland, 28 November 2018 – His Highness the Aga Khan, speaking at the Geneva Conference on Afghanistan, today reaffirmed his “enduring commitment to Afghanistan, and, most importantly, to its peoples”.

The Aga Khan, Mowlana Hazar Imam , was among the 70 World Leaders who attended in Paris, the ceremonies commemorating the 100 years of the Armistice that ended the World War 1 (the Great War). The Aga Khan attended the opening of the Paris Peace Forum which is scheduled from 11 to 13th November 2018.

His Highness the Aga Khan will receive an honorary degree from the University of Calgary on Oct. 17.University of Calgary Chancellor Deborah Yedlin and President and Vice-Chancellor Elizabeth Cannon are pleased to announce that His Highness the Aga Khan will be the recipient of an honorary degree at a special ceremony next month.

France has awarded Aga Khan, Imam of the world's Shia Ismaili Muslim community, with its highest honour, the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour. President Emmanuel Macron awarded him the honour in recognition of his contribution to humanity and achievements in improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable populations around the world.

Tens of thousands of Ismailis from all over the world gathered in Lisbon, Portugal for a week of celebrations to commemorate a once in a lifetime event of the Diamond Jubilee of our 49th Holy Imam Mawlana Shah Karim Al-Husayni who is the 5th Imam in our history to celebrate 60 years on the throne of Imamat.

The event was situated in FIL (Feira Internacional De Lisbon) during the week starting July 5th 2018 and reaching the high mark of Holy Deedar on July 11th 2018.

Members of Noorani family also visited the exhibition sites and the performances by various Ismaili artists.

Prince Aly Muhammad attended the World Partnership Walk in Toronto, Canada on Sunday June 17, 2018. He was also accompanied by the Mayor of Toronto John Tory and other Provincial dignitaries and the Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs. Prince Aly Muhammad made a speech in which he remembered his experiences in the Northern Areas of Pakistan where he saw first-hand the results of climate change which have created havoc for the people there.

2018, June 17

Canada congratulates His Highness the Aga Khan, on his Diamond Jubilee. The Aga Khan will visit Canada to celebrate this anniversary.

While in Ottawa from May 1 to 4, 2018, His Highness will attend a dinner at Rideau Hall, the official residence of the Governor General. The Aga Khan will then continue his visit to Canada, travelling to other parts of the country, including Vancouver and Calgary.

Dubai: Prince Karim Agha Khan, the spiritual leader of the Shia Esmaili Muslim Community, arrived in Dubai on Monday on an official visit as part of his Diamond Jubilee commemoration.

His Highness the Aga Khan will visit Canada in November 2017 from November 15 to 20.

On November 15th he will present the Global Centre for Pluralism's Annual Award in Ottawa to 3 winners from Colombia, kenya and Australia
