A high-level delegation of Sindh police officials, led by Hyderabad DIG Tariq Razzaq Darejo, apologised for the unauthorised police raid on the offices of the Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Thatta and Shahbunder in Var City last week.

DIG Darejo met with the office bearers of the Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Thatta and Shahbunder. During the meeting, the DIG condemned the Sujawal police's slackness and assured them that a team had been constituted to investigate the matter. He warned that those found involved in the extrajudicial act would face stern departmental action.

The police officials acknowledged that the raid was a mistake and expressed regret for the chaos it had caused.

Thatta SSP Dr Imran Khan and Sujawal SSP Abdul Khaliq Pirzada praised the contributions of the Ismaili community to the country's development, noting that they have always promoted peace and cooperation with state institutions.

Ismaili Council for Thatta and Shahbunder President Dr Nazir Jummani expressed gratitude to the police officials for their prompt action to ensure the safety and security of the community. He emphasised that their spiritual leader, Prince Karim Aga Khan, has always guided them to be loyal to Pakistan and its institutions.

Locals said the meeting was a positive step towards resolving the issue and promoting better understanding between the police and the Ismaili communities.

The police officials vowed to cooperate fully with the investigation and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

The raid in question took place last week. Uniformed officers had attempted to barge into the Shia Imami Ismaili Council's office. In the process of doing so, they damaged the security cameras installed in the perimeter of the office.
