The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mbarouk Nassor Mbarouk expressed the commitment this week when the organisation celebrated the 65th anniversary of the ascension of Aga Khan to the Ismaili Imamat in Dar es Salaam.

Foundation stone laid for Tanzanian cancer care centre, 1.7m to benefit 2022-04-10
Posted April 13th, 2022 by librarian-hdDar es Salaam, Tanzania, 10 April 2022 – The Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam laid the foundation stone for its state-of-the-art cancer care centre, which will serve as a key hub for the innovative Tanzania Comprehensive Cancer Project (TCCP). The Project, launched by the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) in January 2020, has the goal of reducing cancer morbidity and mortality in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza.

Tanzania, partners sign 14.8 mln USD deal to improve cancer care 2019-12-17
Posted December 17th, 2019 by librarian-hdDAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) --Tanzanian government and its two partners, the Aga Khan Health Services and the French Development Agency, on Monday signed a 13.3 million Euros (about 14.8 million U.S. dollars) grant agreement and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve cancer care in the east African nation.
The funding will be run by the Tanzania Comprehensive Cancer Project (TCCP), an innovative public-private project aimed at enhancing cancer care in Tanzania.

Kassim Majaliwa launched the completion of the second phase of a US$ 79.8 million (TZS 183 billion) expansion of the Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam, which will enable the institution to serve over one million patients each year. The expansion was funded by a US$ 53.5 million (TZS 134 billion) loan from the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement - AFD) and a US$ 26.3 million (TZS 58 billion) contribution from the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

The programme was launched yesterday with more than 50 trainees including nurses, midwives and clinical officers from Ilala and Temeke district councils in Dar es Salaam city.

Tanzania: Minister Unveils Phase II of Aga Khan Hospital in Dar 2016-08-24
Posted August 24th, 2016 by librarian-hdDar es Salaam — The minister for Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Ms Ummy Mwalimu, and Princess Zahra Aga Khan yesterday launched the second Phase of the Aga Khan Hospital construction.
The health facility will be built at the cost of Sh167 billion in which the French Development Bank has provided concessionary long term financing of Sh112 billion while Sh55 billion is a grant from the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
The new building will take 170 hospital beds.
