News of the birth of Prince Irfan has been greeted with immense joy by the worldwide Jamat. Jamati leaders have sent messages of congratulations to the family with prayers for the Prince’s long life and wellbeing.

H.H. The Aga Khan has arrived in Lisbon, Portugal and was welcomed at the airport by Mnister was received by Pedro Mota Soares of the Government of Portugal. According to news received from Portugal newspapers, H.H. The Aga Khan, Imam of the Ismailis, will be moving some of his institutions in Portugal where he may also build a residence. H.H. The Aga Khan is expected in the Country this week and more news will be posted in this section starting today.

H.H. The Aga Khan is expected to make large investments in Portugal in the next 5 years.

H.H. The Aga Khan will arrive in Ottawa Tuesday 26th May for a 2 days visit. He is expected to meet the Prime Minister Harper the same evening and work next day on other AKDN related subjects before returning to Toronto for his introduction of a talk by The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, P.C. Chief Justice of Canada at the Pluralism event.

Ontario Signs Agreement of Cooperation with the Ismaili Imamat

Joint Initiatives to Promote Education, Diversity and Economic Development

Premier Kathleen Wynne welcomed His Highness the Aga Khan to Queen's Park today for the signing of a historic Agreement of Cooperation between the province and the Ismaili Imamat. The agreement outlines areas of cooperation and joint initiatives, including leveraging diversity and culture as an economic driver and supporting a pluralistic approach to education.

The Inauguration of the Aga Khan Park will take place in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam on 25 May 2015. Situated along Wynford Drive, the Park provides a beautifully landscaped contemplative public space that encompasses the Ismaili Centre, Toronto and the Aga Khan Museum.

Gouvieux, France, 13th May 2015 - His Highness the Aga Khan, Spiritual Leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslims has expressed shock and sadness in the wake of an attack on a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community on their way to work in Karachi, Pakistan, that left 43 people dead.

For the first time in Pakistan, officials of the provincial government working on the district and provincial levels will be able to enrol in a graduate program on health policy and management as part of an initiative to build capacity to ensure better delivery of services.

For this the Sindh government on Monday signed an agreement with the Aga Khan University and John Snow Inc, as part of the strengthening health systems component of the USAID’s maternal and child health program.
