Farah Diba and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg attended the Installation of Frederic Mitterrand at The Academy of Fine Arts of the Institute of France in Paris, France. Farah Pahlavi and Karim Aga Khan IV were also present at the event. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa was received as guest of honor by Frédéric Mitterrand in the presence of many personalities from the political, cultural, and economic world. The Academy of Fine Arts (Academie des Beaux-Arts) is one of the five academies of the Institute of France (Institut de France).

Attended a dinner at 10 Downing Street, London (Monday). Dinner was hosted by the Prime Minister and Mr. Denis Thatcher in honour of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Mohammad Khan Junejo.

His Highness the Aga Khan attends the International Conference on the Dialogue among Civilisations, Cultures and Peoples at the UNESCO, Paris. The Conference in Paris was attended by more than 300 participants. According to the Quotidien Le Soleil of Senegal the Aga Khan was among the attendees.

Friday. Hazar Imam, Chancellor of the Aga Khan University, launched four major projects aimed at strengthening and expanding nursing education, specialised diagnostic services, advanced research and community health-care. He made a speech at the following opening and foundation ceremonies: Rufayda al-Aslamya Center, The Hadi Building and the Juma building.

Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Brian Mulroney opened Ismaili Jamat Khana and Centre in Burnaby, B.C. in presence of Mowlana Hazar Imam, Begum Salimah and Prince Amyn Mohammad.

"Canada is not content simply to assist immigrants to establish themselves in her society at the lowest common denominator of what they can contribute, but positively encourages them to express whatever is most valuable in the cultures of their origin and be proud of it."

Mowlana Hazar Imam spoke at a banquet held in his honor by the National Council of USA in New York. Hazar Imam said, '. . . and the point I am making is that this is really an international Jamat'.

The University of Central Asia (UCA) and the University of Cambridge signed a Memorandum of Understanding on February 25th 2020 to promote academic partnership, and collaborate in areas such as joint research, faculty and student exchange, as well as sharing of academic and educational material. The signing ceremony, at Cambridge’s Old Schools Building, was attended by Princess Zahra Aga Khan, Members of UCA’s Board of Trustees, the Rector and Deans of UCA, and senior representatives from Cambridge.

Hazar Imam signed the agreement in Cambridge, Massachussets marking the extension and expansion of the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture at the M.I.T. and Harvard. Hazar Imam announced the institution of an international prize for Muslim architecture on the lines of the Nobel Prize, to be adjudicated and awarded in Pakistan. Mowlana Hazar Imam addressed National Council of Culture and Arts at Karachi. In an impassioned speech, Hazar Imam said: 'I fear the day when Islam will be our Faith, yet its outward manifestation in the buildings we work and live in, the works of art we behold and the music we listen to, will be dominated by foreign cultures .'
