It is with gratitude and admiration that I participate in this event today. It gives me the opportunity to express publicly the enormous respect in which I hold Prince Claus, and the very great importance I attach to the work of the Prince Claus Fund. I am saddened that Prince Claus cannot be with us tonight, and I am sure that all of you will join me in requesting Her Majesty The Queen to convey to His Royal Highness our warmest regards and best wishes.

It is a special joy for me to welcome you this evening, and to thank you for being a part of this most auspicious ceremony, in this most appropriate place.

According to the Madagascar journal MIDI MADAGASCAR President Ratsiraka meet Prince Aga Khan in Paris before flying to Moncton in Canada for the Francophone summit. Cooperation in the field of education (creation of schools) as well as health (cholera eradication) and development was discuss. The meeting and an interview was shown in the Malagasy TV.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities' annual conference: Later today, Michael Ignatieff will be in attendance when the PM bestows honourary Canadian citizenship on the Aga Khan.

It is a great pleasure for my wife and I to be in Singapore again and to see for ourselves what tremendous developments have taken place here over the last few years. Your government, Mr. Rajaratnam, deserves congratulations for the economic miracle you have achieved, in spite of the recession in the industrialized countries.

President Vest, Members of the Corporation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, distinguished members of the Faculty, Mayor Reeves, happy graduates, even happier parents, and others gathered here today:

I am pleased and honoured to be with you this morning.

MIT has shown a standard of excellence in education and research that sets a benchmark for universities everywhere. You who have been at the Institute for years may be excused if you take this in stride, but for me, coming here for the first time in several years, the energy of the place is palpable.

2007, August 19:The Aga Khan arrived at 10:25am aboard a private jet. Among the officials who turned up to receive him were Presidential Adviser Martin Aliker, the Aga Khan resident representative, Mahmood Ahmed and Kampala mayor Nasser Sebaggala. [New Vision]

In early March, Prince Rahim, accompanied by his wife, Princess Salwa, visited Kenya and Tanzania, to better understand the plans and responses of the various institutions and agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) towards environmental sustainability and climate action.

Prince Rahim’s visit to Kenya took place in his capacity as Chair of the AKDN Environment and Climate Committee (ECC), which was recently established to develop a policy framework on priorities related to the environment and climate change for implementation by AKDN globally.

August - November 1905 - Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III visited the Jamats of Zanzibar, Nairobi and Mombasa between August 15 and November 12, 1905.

Accord of Cooperation signed between Aga Khan Development Network and Government of Canada in Ottawa. The Minister Rt. Hon. Monique Landry also announced the selection of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada for the design and implementation of a Canadian $25 million training and special development project in Pakistan.

In response to an article published by the Times of London, in 1951, the 48th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims had written an

- Financial Times: 'Had it not been for the Aga Khan, the chances are that no one would have heard of the Costa Smeralda. He had the idea, back in the 1960s, of finding a Mediterranean island as close to perfection as possible, bagging its best stretch of coastline and building stylish hotels, marinas and nightclubs. He then invited all his rich and famous friends to come and stay and, just for good measure, started his own airline to transport them.'

Tanga Jamatkhana was officially opened by the Honourable Rashidi Jumaane Abdallah, Regional Commissioner of Tanga Region. Prince Karim Aga Khan sent his 'best loving blessings for the success you have had in the construction of the new Jamatkhana.'

Sunday; On his way to Karachi, Hazar Imam made a brief stop at Beirut Airport where the Lebanese Government gave him a welcome normally reserved for Heads of State. Some 600 Syrian and Lebanese Ismailis also were gathered at this auspicious occasion.

August 4, 1945 - Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, Aga Khan III and Mata Salamat landed from a flying boat and made their first visit to Lourenco Marques, Mozambique.

According to the New Vision published in Kampala, published on August 6, President Yoweri Museveni helds a meeting with the visiting His Highness the Aga Khan at Parliamentary Buildings on Wednesday August 4, 2004.

Karachi

For the first time in Pakistan, officials of the provincial government working on the district and provincial levels will be able to enrol in a graduate program on health policy and management as part of an initiative to build capacity to ensure better delivery of services.

For this the Sindh government on Monday signed an agreement with the Aga Khan University and John Snow Inc, as part of the strengthening health systems component of the USAID’s maternal and child health program.
