Aga Khan Seeks to Buy SEACOM Business Valued at KES 65 Billion 2020-07-27
Posted July 27th, 2020 by librarian-hdAga Khan has made a bid to acquire Africa’s first broadband undersea cable system company, SEACOM.
The move, which was announced last week, seeks to reorganize the SEACOM’s broadband business in Africa.
The bid was made by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (Akfed). The Comesa Competition Commission made an inquiry about the proposal, and Akfed reported that it is planning to require all SEACOM shares.

Three accords finalized for 147-MW Ruzizi III hydropower project-between I.P.S. & Norwegian renewable energy company SN Power
Posted July 31st, 2019 by librarian-hdIPS, the industrial and infrastructure development arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), and Norwegian renewable energy company SN Power have signed project agreements for the 147-MW Ruzizi III hydropower project with the governments of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda.

Posted March 24th, 2010 by heritageMowlana Hazar Imam Shah Karim Al-Huseini was given a rousing welcome by the Jamat at Dar es Salaam airport when he arrived there on Tuesday, the 10th November at 8 p.m. in his personal Grumman Executive jet.
Amongst the leaders of the Jamat who welcomed him and garlanded him on his alighting from the plane were Sir Eboo Pirbhai, president of Supreme Council, Vazir Abdulla Tejpar, president of Council for Tanzania, Mr. Amir Pirbhai, president of Dar es Salaam Provincial Council. Mukhis and Kamadias of the Jamats, the Councillors and other leaders were present to greet him.

Posted March 24th, 2010 by heritageMowlana Hazar Imam visited Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zanzibar for two weeks in July 1991, during which he met with President Daniel Arap Moi of Kenya, President Hassan Ali Mwinyi of Tanzania, President Salim Amour Juma of Zanzibar and President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.As Chancellor of the Aga Khan University, Mowlana Hazar Imam was accompanied to Kenya and Tanzania by the Board of Trustees of the Aga Khan University, a group of prominent international academics, medical practitioners and professionals.

H. H. The Aga Khans visit to Tanzania and Uganda - 1982-11-21
Posted March 24th, 2010 by heritageMowlana Hazar Imam and Begum Salima visited Tanzania from November 20th to November 26th, 1982 as part of khudavinds' Silver Jubilee Tour, and also briefly visited Uganda.
During the 6 day visit, Mowlana Hazar Imam met with President Julius Nyerere as well as senior Government Ministers and Officials. On Saturday, November 20, 1982, President Nyerere hosted a dinner to honour Mowlana Hazar Imam's Silver Jubilee.
