Nairobi, Kenya: His Highness the Aga Khan, arrives in the country today. During his visit, the Aga Khan will meet President Mwai Kibaki and top Cabinet ministers. He will join the President in the inauguration of the Altex Apparel Factory at the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Athi River.

Mowlana Hazar Imam attended the foundation ceremony of the first purpose built Jamatkhana in Lisbon.

Kampala, Uganda, 17 December 2015 - The Aga Khan University, a not-for-profit, private international university, announced today it will build a teaching hospital in Kampala to provide Ugandans with health care and higher education of world-class quality.

Members of My family, members of the Jamat, this is a uniquely happy occasion in My life. And as you can tell I am a little emotional. But then who isn't when you reach the revered age of eighty. So I am there, but I feel I as though I am 40. Thanks to you. .

This has been a very, very happy occasion for Me and I would like to thank everyone who has participated in making this event happen.

IPS (Kenya) celebrated its Silver Jubilee at Nairobi Serena Hotel's Mandari Room where Hazar Imam awarded Long Service Certificates to various employees. Speaking on the concept of IPS, Hazar Imam said: 'And the idea, that development companies could commit substantial quantities of equity to the developing world, and demonstrate that equity could be invested, be made productive, could grow and establish sound long-term enterprises, was, in 1963, a difficult question for people to believe in, and to sustain.

H.H. The Aga Khan celebrated his 80th birthday with his family on 13th December 2016. On 16th December, the LIF invited Mowlana Hazar Imam to a birthday party in Aiglemont. members of the Noorani family also attended: Prince Amyn, Prince Rahim, Princess Salwa, Prince Irfan, Princess Zahra.and Prince Hussain were in attendance.

Mowlana Hazar Imam delivered a speech at the Hirshorn Museum at a program focusing on the Architectural Awards. This event was co-sponsored by the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C. The function was attended by Ambassador Lucius Battle, Chairman of the National Committee to Honor the Fourteenth Centennial of Islam.

2008, December 8 - 9: H.H. The Aga Khan attended A Mystical Journey: Musique Soufie et Autres Expressions de Devotion en Islam. Mawlana Hazar Imam commenced his Golden Jubilee visit to France by taking in A Mystical Journey: Musique Soufie et Autres Expressions de Dévotion en Islam at Théâtre Mogador in Paris. Hazar Imam was joined by Princess Zahra, Prince Hussain, leaders from the Government of France and members of French society, as well as senior Jamati leaders from France and abroad.

The King and the Aga Khan discussed the Ismaili leader's network of services in the education, health, construction, cultural and financial sectors.

Extending the Zanzibar Government's arm of friendship, the Chief Minister Hon. Omar Ali Juma, presented Mowlana Hazar Imam with a one-acre plot of land as birthday gift to construct his own house in Zanzibar.

Hazar Imam with Prince Amyn Mohammad visited Mangapwani site, 15 miles north of Zanzibar town, where Tourism Promotion Services (Zanzibar) Limited is proposing to build a 125 room beach resort with golfing and other sports facilities.

When we consider the great contribution of the Islamic peoples to modern Western civilization, particularly in the realm of scientific enquiry, philosophic thought and mysticism, wherein the religious spirit is lifted to the sublime, the paradox of conflict becomes all the more striking

Arrived at Entebbe to begin a tour of Uganda. Spent five hours at State House in consultation with President Milton Obote. Had further discussions with Cabinet Ministers. Laid foundation stone of a 350,000 Pounds wheat flour mill in Kampala. Attended Kampala Mayor's Annual Christmas Charity Ball together with President Obote. Visited I.P.S. fish net factory in Kampala and held consultations with I.P.S. project partners. Visited Secondary school on Kibuli Hill. Attended reception given for him by Ismailis at Lugogo Stadium. Opened library at Aga Khan Secondary School.

Hazar Imam was conferred with Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) from the University of Wales by the Chancellor of the University, the Prince of Wales. Hazar Imam was cited for his patronage of education and academic research throughout the world.

2007, November 26:On the occasion of the commemoration of the Golden Jubilee, the spiritual leader of the community Ismaili, His Highness the Aga Khan, had a five day visit to Madagascar. Accompanied by his staff, He arrived on the 26th of November, 2007 at the international airport of Ivato, hosted by the great family of Ismaelis of Madagascar as well as the islands of the Indian Ocean, Canada and Africa.
