Bishkek, October 18 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with visiting Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the Kyrgyz President's press office reports.

At the beginning of the meeting President Atambayev awarded Prince Karim Aga Khan IV the Danaker Order for public activities and the implementation of socio-economic projects in Kyrgyzstan. The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan appreciates the work of the Aga Khan Development Network and attaches great importance to further strengthening of cooperation with the Organization.

Those of you who are regular guests at the Hadrian Award Luncheon may have noticed that this seems to have become a regular time for me to be a guest at these meetings. I should assure you I’m not seeking a permanent place on the program. This is the third consecutive Hadrian lunch at which I’ve been privileged to speak about the work of the World Monuments Fund, and indeed it is certainly worthy of all the attention that any of us could give to that work.

An unparalleled leader in development, cultural preservation and philanthropy, largely benefiting poor and marginalized communities in Asia and Africa, is being honored with the 2011 Urban Land Institute (ULI) J.C. Nichols Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development. His Highness the Aga Khan, Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims and leader of the nondenominational Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), was named the 2011 Nichols Laureate today at ULI's Annual Fall Meeting and Urban Land Expo in Los Angeles.

Let me also explain that in Islam, the role of an Imam is not limited to the domain of faith. It also includes a deep engagement in the world, in all of the wide and complex issues that affect our quality of life

LAHORE, Nov 18: His Highness Karim Aga Khan has been awarded the internationally-acclaimed David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership Award 2012 in a ceremony held under the aegis of “University for a Night”, sponsored by Hashoo Foundation, Kim Samuel Johnson and Shell.

Mowlana Hazar Imam was presented with the Nishan in the Order of Pakistan, the country's highest civil award, by President Mohammad Zia Ul-Haq at a ceremony attended by government ministers, diplomats and civic leaders in Islamabad on March 23, 1983.
The Award, according to the official citation, was made in recognition of Hazar Imam's contribution to Pakistan's social and economic development, and to the well-being of the world of Islam.

The Aga Khan receives an honorary degree from University of Alberta Chancellor Linda Hughes on June 9.
