President Almazbek Atambayev awards Prince Karim Aga Khan IV the Danaker Order 2016-10-18
Posted October 19th, 2016 by librarian-hdBishkek, October 18 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with visiting Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the Kyrgyz President's press office reports.
At the beginning of the meeting President Atambayev awarded Prince Karim Aga Khan IV the Danaker Order for public activities and the implementation of socio-economic projects in Kyrgyzstan. The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan appreciates the work of the Aga Khan Development Network and attaches great importance to further strengthening of cooperation with the Organization.

Those of you who are regular guests at the Hadrian Award Luncheon may have noticed that this seems to have become a regular time for me to be a guest at these meetings. I should assure you I’m not seeking a permanent place on the program. This is the third consecutive Hadrian lunch at which I’ve been privileged to speak about the work of the World Monuments Fund, and indeed it is certainly worthy of all the attention that any of us could give to that work.

2011 J.C. Nichols Prize Winner—His Highness the Aga Khan 2011-10-28

Nichols Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development. His Highness the Aga Khan, Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims and leader of the nondenominational Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), was named the 2011 Nichols Laureate today at ULI's Annual Fall Meeting and Urban Land Expo in Los Angeles.

The Award, according to the official citation, was made in recognition of Hazar Imam's contribution to Pakistan's social and economic development, and to the well-being of the world of Islam.
