Mawlana Hazar Imam commenced his Golden Jubilee visit to France by taking in A Mystical Journey: Musique Soufie et Autres Expressions de Dévotion en Islam at Théâtre Mogador in Paris. 2009, October 19 - Prime Minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga has arrived in Paris, France for a three-day official visit that will see him hold meetings with senior French Government officials and Kenyans living in the country. The PM will on Tuesday hold discussions with Mr Jean-Michel Severino, the director general of the French Agency for Development. He will also hold talks with Prince Karim Aga Khan IV.

2008, Juin 18: PARIS - Le prince Karim Aga Khan, chef spirituel des Ismaéliens, a fait son entrée mercredi à la prestigieuse Académie des Beaux-Arts à Paris en tant que membre associé étranger, occupant le fauteuil de l'architecte Kenzo Tange décédé en 2005. 2008, June 8: H.H the Aga Khan, the owner of French horse Zarkava, and it's Belgian jockey Christophe Soumillon won the 159th Prix de Diane horse racing, on June 8, 2008 in Chantilly, outside Paris. 2008, January 30 - Gouvieux, France - H.H. the Aga Khan, today met with Mr. Haruhiko Kuroda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), for discussions on joint collaboration between the ADB and AKDN. The meeting preceded the signing of an agreement aimed at expanding the partnership between the two institutions. Prince Amyn Aga Khan, who signed the agreement on the Aga Khan's behalf, thanked the ADB for its long-standing cooperation and lauded the Bank's efforts to adopt a new long-term strategy this year in the face of growing challenges and opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.

2009, January 18: Meeting between Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo and His Highness the Aga Khan. (PHOTO: MFA) - Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo was hosted to lunch by His Highness the Aga Khan at the latter's residence in Paris on 18 January 2009. It was a follow-up to their earlier meeting in December 2008 when the Aga Khan visited Singapore as part of his Golden Jubilee celebrations. During the lunch, His Highness conveyed his decision to establish an Ismaili Centre and regional representative office of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Singapore.

The spiritual leader of 15 million Ismailis - of which 2500 live in France - has made his 24 year old daughter Zahra his privileged partner. The princess grew up in Paris, was schooled in Switzerland, then obtained her degree in Economic Development in the Third World at Harvard. During her trip to Pakistan with her father, the Aga Khan reserved a comprehensive social action program for her. The man who is called the 'richest man in the world', invests around 140 million dollars (700 million French Francs) in the third world each year.
