Jire bhaai Gur sevataa sabh gun thaase,
antar aapa kun jovo 1

O brother! As a result of devotion/obedience to the Guide all virtues will arise, look into yourselves.

Jire bhaai paanchhi bandh baandho rikhisaro,
kaaye kun mudal gamaavo 2

O brother! Build the five dams (virtues) O believers. Why do you squander your capital?

Jire bhaai lobh laagaa sabh jug dubaa,
us vaatte kaany tame chaalo 3

O brother! Indulged in gread, the whole world is drowned. Why do you walk along that path?

Kutumb parivaar sajaanaa

Eji Kuttam parivaar sajanaa,
me sab ku chhoddeaa re;
dhil baandheaa mere saanhi sun,
man tam sun joddiaare .... ....
Siri nabi kahe saanhiaa,
ttuk dur mat jaaiore;
jab aavegi vednaa,
tab tum dekhan aaio 1

O beloved! I have foresaken all the family relationships and indeed foresaken everything. I have bound my heart to my Lord. I have bound my heart (mind) to You. O beloved of the honoured Prophet: do not stay away from me (even) a little while. When any harm or calamity befalls, come to look after me.

Khadiya padiya delidiaa bethiyaa mede bhaai

Eji Khaddiyaa paddiyaa lettiyaa bettiyaa
mede bhaaive,
hardam saami raajo sanbhaariye 1

O my brother! While standing or lying down, reclining or sitting, remember the Kingly Lord upon every breath.

Eji Jarame bhalame mede bhaaive;
gatt pad saami raajo sanbaariye 2

O my brother! On land or in water, in a valley or a path-way (mountainious road or levelled path) keep on remembering the Kingly Lord.

Eji Deshthi pardesh aaviyaa mede bhaaive;
pardesh desh sadhaarso 3

Ya Allah re tamne srevun maaraa hansaa Ya Allah re tamne srevun maaraa hansaa

Ya Alaah re tamne srevun
maaraa hansaa jinaa raajaa,
Kaayam karone asvaari 1

O Allah! I worship or serve you, O King of my soul. O Qaim! Appear to me (with your splendour and power).

Ya Alaah re bhaai ji, maatti paanni
maatti panni le kar,
kaayaa ratan eh banaai 2

O humble brother! Clay and water, mixing clay and water he created the gem-like body.

Ya Alaah re bhaai ji, udd gayaa
hans paddi rahi maatti,
mustak paddi sir bhaari 3

Ek jire bhaaire saachlo maarag saamiji sirjiyaa

Ek jire bhaai re saachlo maarag
saami ji ye sirjiyaa,
kudd kaa chaalo chho vir 1

O my brother! My Lord has created the path of truth. O my brave one! Why do you conduct yourself in a deceitful manner?

Ek jire bhaai re kudaa te kal maanhe
khottaa paddshe,
fal leshe sachaa yaaraa 2

O my brother! The false will be proven false in this age, true friends will reap the rewards.

Ek jire bhaai re kudd mat karo
nahin kaa jaasho biyene,
nir te lochan vayshe 3

Kalmaa kahore momano

Kalmaa kahore momano,
tame mat jaao re bul;
raahaa Ali Nabi jiki saach hae;
e hovege sadhaa kabul 1

O momins! Recite the Kalima and do not forget. Only the path of Hazarat Ali and the Prophet is the true path. Those who walk on this path will always be accepted.

Eji Aal nabiu tamkun bhejeaa,
is duniaa ke bich;
nimaaj bandagi kalmaan hae,
eh hae niaamat chij 2

O brother! The progeny of the Prophet has been sent for you in this world. Prayer, Bandagi and Kalima are blessings.

Eji Nabi to jivun kaa daataar hay,
jenne kalmaa sunnaayaa;

Shaah ni srevaae tame jaagjo

Eji Shaaha ni srevaa eh tame jaag jo
aaviyaa te kol ne karaariyaa ji 1

O brother! Stay awake and active in the service of the Imam, the time to fulfill your promise has arrived.

Eji Aavengo Naklank paatra Mahedi
Shaaha kare dul dul asvaariyaa ji 2

O brother! The Pure and Spotless manifestation, the Mahdi (Hazarat Ali), who is the Imam will arrive riding on the Duldul (the horse).

Eji Adal kare Shaah karaari yaa
haathe leshe te khadang tridhaariya ji 3

Piyu piyu kijiyen

Eji Piyu piyu kijiye
to radeh upaje ginaan;
radeh nirmal to thaay
jo raakho saaheb-ji sun dhiyaan 1

O brother! Remember the beloved so that divine knowledge and wisdom may arise in your heart. The heart will be purified when attention or thoughts are focussed upon the Imam.

Eji Dhiyaan ek chit raakhie
to dil maanhe upaje het sun neh;
em saas usaase aaraadhiyen
bhaai te kadi na dije chheh 2

E viraa bhaai Sat Panth srevo mere bhaai

E viraa bhaai,
Sat Panth srevo mere bhaai,
tame nit nit karo aachhi kamaai ji 1

O my brother! Follow the Satpanth (True Path) and always perform pure and rewarding deeds.

E viraa bhaai,
khatt gaddi jaare paachhli reve,
tare tame jikar karo ilaahi ji 2

O my brother! When the six ghadis of the night remain, perform the remembrance of God.

E viraa bhaai,
jikar karo nindhaa parharo,
bhaai saaheb hove meherbaan ji 3

O my brother! Perform remembrance and shun backbiting, then the Imam will be merciful.

E viraa bhaai,

Ye mitha Muhammad naam sunno bhai munivaro

Ye mitha Muhammad naam sunno bhai munivaro 1

O my momin brother! Listen, the name of Muhammad is sweet.

Bin thambh jamin aasman - sunno bhai munivaro 2

O my momin brother! Listen, earth and sky have been created without pillars.

Chaar jug ne chaar khaan - sunno bhai munivaro 3

O my momin brother! Listen, four yugas and four levels of creation (came into existence).

Aaj kal vaari subhaan - sunno bhai munivaro 4

O my momin brother! Listen, today is the time for Glory (Subhaan).

Jibiya indri ekaj naar (verses from Khat Nirinjan)

Jibiya indri ekaj naar,
Jo baande so ootre paar 221

Tongue is the only sense, which, one who controls, succeeds.

Indri thar vina paap na jaay,
Paap gaya vina soodh na thaay 222

Without controlling senses sins cannot be eliminated, and without eliminating the sins none can become pure.

Soodh thaya vina santokh na hoy,
Santokh vina bhagti na hoy223

Without being pure, contentment cannot be attained and without contentment devotion is not possible.

Bhagti vina koi joogti na paay,

Antkaal vella vaapari

Eji Antkaal vela vaapari re,
tame cheto moman bhaai ji 1

O brother! The final moment can be full of agony, O momin brother, be careful.

Eji Satgur sirevo tame Sat-Panth dhiaavo,
ne kari liyo kamaai ji 2

O brother! Obey the True Guide, follow the Satpanth(true path) and perform rewarding deeds.

Eji Shaah-naa didaar jene bhettiyaa,
tene ghadh amraapuri vaas ji 3

O brother! Those who are blessed with the Deedar of the Imam, their abode will be in paradise.

Eji Amraapuri no maarag chhe dohelo,
tame kem utarso paele paar ji 4

Ho Jire bhaai re dhiro dhiro moman no tame thar-j rahejo

Ho Jire bhaai re dhiro dhiro moman no tame thar-j rahejo
jo thar rahesho to aagal amraapuri paamsho 1

O my momin brother! Have patience and remain steadfast. If you remain firm then later on you will reach the abode of paradise.

Ho Jire bhaai re maan sarovar maa moti ratan chhe apaar
te maanhe hanslaa moti chunne 2

O my brother! In the lake of Man (universe or Jamat), there are countless diamonds and jewels. From these the swans (momins) select pearls.

Ho Jire bhaai re aal par naari sun man raakho upwaas

Ho ho kartaa hoy gayaa

Eji Ho ho kartaa hoi gayaa,
hotaa na laage vaar;
faani duniaa jaannie,
kaljug hae din chaar 1

O brother! It came into existence like that and it takes no time to happen. Consider this existence to be fleeting. The present era (Kaljug) is of four days ( is of short period).

Eji Gur kaa kaheaa tame kijie,
kartaa na laavo vaar;
dasond dije Gur paave,
munivar ho saachaa yaar 2

O brother! Act according to the teachings of the Guide, and do not procrastinate in that. Submit the tithe to the Guide and become a true friend (of the Guide).

Eji Uthi Allah na Gur-e bandaa tun sutay saji raat,
nakaa jori jivji banaa nakaa samar saath
Shaah jo mandiaddo tini key jen ke subhudday jaagan;
subhudday na jaagiyaa ten key huraaun na indhiyun hath,
se haay haay kandhaa hath hunnidaa, jin hari vinnai-vatr Shaah ....1

Eji Saacho dhiaavo-ne ginaan vichaaro,
bhaai Gur binaa ginaan na hoy;
murakh loke maram na jaanneo,
bhai te maatte karanni khoy 1

O brother! Follow the truth and reflect and contemplate upon Ginans. O brother, Without the Guide there is no wisdom and knowledge. The foolish people did not understand the secret (mystery), therefore O brother! They squandered their earnings.

Eji Baava hiraa parakhiye ghan eransun
ane ratan parakhiye punam chandra jot
tem munivar parakhiye imansun
evi karanie amrapuri hot 2

teeth aatthmee aavyaa gaam naa lok, jue sarave saartheere lol.....1

On the eight night the people of the town have come,
this is seen by all the fellow dancers!

gur shams gaaye meetthaa bol, sunne sarave maleene re lol.........2

The Guide Shams sings sweet verses, and all gather and listen to it!

gur bhaa(n)khe amarat geenaan ke, aad unneeyaadthee re lol........3

The Guide has expounded the nector (water of life) of the "geenaan"
of the beginning period and indeed pre-eternity!

jyaare rachyaa(n) jameen aasmaan ke, pavan paanneeyaare lol.......4

teeth navmee aavyaa gurujee aap, rame sarave saartheere lol.......1

On the nineth night the Guide has come to you,
and all the companions (truthful ones) dance!

te maa(n)he ramyaa aape sujaann, kathee vaannee ghannee re lol....2

In the dance, the All Knowing and the wise one himself danced!
and expounded many verses!

kareeyaa pa(n)jetan paaknaa vakhaann, upaavann nurnee re lol......3

He praised the five pure bodies and preached about the Light!

jyaa(n) sarjyaa kutub taaraa nur, te pa(n)jetan paaknaare lol.....4

gur aavataa sarave raat ke, geenaan sunnaavataa re lol............1

The Guide comes at every night and tells you about
the "genaans" (Divine knowledge and wisdom)!

taai murakh na sunne gemaar ke, kaane bereeyaa re lol.............2

Even then the foolish do not listen and remain ignorant,
they are indeed deaf!

gur bolyaa meetthaa bol ke, saa(m)bhallo saarthee re lol..........3

The Guide has spoken in a sweet (truthful) manner,
so listen with care and attention!
