Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa were married on 31 August 2013 on the shores of Lake Geneva at the residence of late Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan in Switzerland.

THE Aga Khan Development Network Foundation and the International Baccalaureate have agreed to jointly intensify efforts to broaden access to quality education for students in Uganda and other developing countries.

A memorandum of understanding signed at the Aga Khan headquarters in France between the two organisations sets out a framework for strengthened cooperation in the advancement of education.

Baccalaureate is a Swiss-based NGO, which offers educational programmes for “a worldwide community of schools”.

Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, a former UN High Commissioner for Refugees and uncle of Prince Karim Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, died in the United States on Monday. He was 70.The prince died in a Boston hospital after a long illness, an official of one of his foundations told AFP. After a career in the United Nations that spanned nearly 40 years, the prince devoted himself to defence and environmental issues.

In the calm of the quiet Swiss commune at whose heart he lived for nearly half a century, Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan was today laid to rest following traditional Muslim ceremonies, attended, as he had wished, by his most intimate family.Beneath the arches of the Château de Bellerive, the site of an ancient Cistercian abbey, last respects were paid to the gentle refrain of Quaranic recitation led by Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed Ibrahim who leads the prayers at the late Aga Khan's mausoleum in Aswan, Egypt.

President General Pervez Musharraf met Prince Karim Aga Khan here on Saturday. They discussed matters of mutual interest and took into account the projects being run by the Aga Khan Foundation in different sectors in Pakistan.
