The Aga Khan University Hospital has introduced a premium outpatient facility where patients will pay Sh6,000 to see a consultant doctor.

The Sh55 million Peponi Executive and Specialty Clinic located in Westlands will house consultants and comes equipped with diagnostic machines, a laboratory and pharmacy.

The Sh6,000 consultancy fee is nearly triple what the hospital charges for visits to general doctors, but nearly matches what private consultants charge for specialised services.

DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA, AT 5 P.M. ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1970
Your Excellency,
Your Highness,
Honourable Ministers,
Your excellencies,
Distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,

It is with the greatest pleasure that I rise to speak on this memorable occasion. For, it is an occasion when superlatives are not out of place; when congratulations are of the highest and sincerest level. And, looking up at this fine building, I might be permitted to add that it is an occasion when even 'tall storeys' are justified in every sense!

Mr President, Your Worship, Ladies and Gentlemen

I have been asked to speak to you about Harvard University and studies of the Middle East. This is a double-barrelled topic which would take many hours to exhaust, but I hope in my own small way to be able to point out how the research work done in today's most advanced universities has and, I believe, will continue to contribute to solving some of the area's thorniest problems.

AT UNVEILING OF PLAQUE LAUNCHING THE AGA KHAN HOSPITAL EXPANSION PROGRAMME AT DIAMOND JUBILEE HALL - 1982-11-25

22488.jpg

Honourable Minister,
Distinguished Guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen.

It gives me great pleasure to be here today for a ceremony which both celebrates the Silver Jubilee of my accession to the Imamat of the Ismaili Muslim Community and underlines the service we are providing to other communities in Tanzania. I am only sorry that 'Natural Causes' have caused the demise of the ceremony at the Aga Khan Hospital itself. Nonetheless it is good news that the Hospital is being extended because the demand for its outpatient services far outstrips present cap
