Posted May 1st, 2022 by librarian-hd1992, May 5: On May 5, Mawlana Hazar Imam was shown projects of the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) at Boulia village and at the Ayesha Abed Foundation by Mr. Fazle Abed, Executive Director of BRAC.
The Aga Khan Foundation is a member of the consortium of international donor agencies funding BRAC and is also an implementing agency for funding to BRAC from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

I am proud indeed to be your guest today and to be the honoured recipient of the key to the city of Dacca. Since I last visited Dacca nearly eight years ago, your city has visibly grown in stature, in beauty and in cleanliness. I congratulate the Municipal Authorities for the work they are doing and I would like to express my particular thanks to them and to the Police for making it possible to travel so easily to the outskirts of the city and through the busiest streets.

Aga Khan Academy to enter final phase, with construction begins this year
Posted January 24th, 2018 by librarian-hdThe Academy in Dhaka will eventually be part of a network of 18 centres of educational excellence in a total of 14 countries across Africa, Central and South Asia and the Middle East.
The Aga Khan laid a foundation stone for Bangladesh’s first Aga Khan Academy on May 20, 2008, during his Dhaka visit.
The schools will use the International Baccalaureate curriculum and admit students on the basis of their academic potential rather than their ability to pay.

AKDN takes interest in Bangladesh’s basic education development

The AKDN said this was in keeping with the goal 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals which tells to “revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development”.
