The prestigious Aga Khan Gold Cup's 49th golf tournament, hosted by the Ismaili Council for Bangladesh since 1973, was formally inaugurated amidst a lot of fanfare at the Kurmitola Golf Course on Friday morning.

The tournament was held after a gap of two years due to the pandemic, and is being sponsored by IPDC, Bombay Sweets, Habib Bank Ltd, Mumtaz Herbal, Olympic, Alco Aluminum, and Finis, said a press release.

Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, chief of air staff, Bangladesh Air Force, was invited as the chief guest, and formally inaugurated the tournament by teeing off.

The prestigious Aga Khan Gold Cup Golf Tournament began amidst fanfare at the lush green and picturesque Kurmitola Golf Course here on Friday.

Admiral AMMM Aurangzeb Chowdhury, Chief of Naval Staff, Bangladesh Navy, was the chief guest at the opening function in the morning, said a press release.

Dhaka, Jan 11 (UNB) – The prestigious Aga Khan Gold Cup Golf Tournament-2019 got off to a fine start amidst a lot of fanfare at the Kurmitola Golf Course on Friday morning.

Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat officially inaugurated the ceremony as chief guest by teeing off in the morning at 7am.
