The Golden Jubilee of the assumption of the gadi of Imamat by Mowlana Sultan Muhammad Shah was celebrated in Nairobi in March 1, 1937 when Mowlana Sultan Muhammad Shah was weighed against gold valued at British pounds 23,000 for the second time. There are many dimensions to Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah, Aga Khan III’s demeanour in his public life. Born on the 2ndof November, 1877, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah became the 48th Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims at the tender age of eight years old. From that time, he was actively involved in social endeavours in education, healthcare, politics and international development. On the occasion of his 143rd birth anniversary, his achievements for progress prove unparalleled.

The Aga Khan III married, on 7 December 1929 (civil), in Aix-les-Bains, France, and 13 December 1929 (religious), in Bombay, India, Andrée Joséphine Carron (1898–1976). A co-owner of a dressmaking shop in Paris, she became known as Princess Andrée Aga Khan. By this marriage, he had one son, Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, (1933–2003). The couple were divorced in 1943

August 17 marks the 75th year of the Diamond Jubilee of our 48th Holy Imam Aga Sultan Muhammad Shah

In response to an article published by the Times of London, in 1951, the 48th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims had written an
explainatory reaction. The text below has been shared by Engineer Baig Ali.

While making the inaugural speech at the All India Mohammedan Educational Conference of 1911, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah stated, “In order to raise our people to their legitimate sphere of power, influence and usefulness, we must have a serviceable and extended system of education…If our people take to science and scientific education in the right spirit, the industrial and economic future of our community will no longer be in doubt."

High Highness Sir Sultan Muhammed Shah, Aga Khan III GCSI GCMG GCIE GCVO PC was the 48th Imam of Ismaili Shia Muslims. He was the first President of the All-India Muslim League. He was born in Karachi on 2 November 1877, but passed away in Versoix, Switzerland on 11 July 1957. After Sir Syed Khan, he played a leading role not only in strengthening the political role of the Muslims of the Indo-Pak subcontinent, the cause of Aligarh Muslim University but the Pakistan Movement also.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Phantom VI State Limousine

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has assented to her Phantom VI State Limousine being present at ‘The Great Eight Phantoms’ – A Rolls-Royce Exhibition. 

In 1977, to mark her Silver Jubilee, the UK's Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders gifted Her Majesty a new official State Limousine, a custom-built Phantom VI. 

The Aga Khan’s Phantom IV that is part of the exhibit was ordered by the leader of the Nizari Ismaili Muslim community. He was among 18 heads of state to commission a Rolls-Royce Phantom IV. The Sedanca de Ville-styled luxury car that took two years to build features a sumptuous red Connolly leather interior, an adjustable mirror, concealed silver brush, comb and compact – all engraved with the Aga Khan’s royal crest, which was also to be seen on the doors – as well as a built-in dictaphone and a picnic set.
