He was among 18 heads of state to commission a Rolls-Royce Phantom IV. The Sedanca de Ville-styled luxury car that took two years to build features a sumptuous red Connolly leather interior, an adjustable mirror, concealed silver brush, comb and compact – all engraved with the Aga Khan’s royal crest, which was also to be seen on the doors – as well as a built-in dictaphone and a picnic set.

The historic time of transition had articles mourning Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah, speculating who the next Imam will be, and covering the funeral and release of the will.

Sir Aga Khan III was born in Karachi in 1877 and dedicated his entire life to the cause of Islam. He will always be remembered as one of the most distinguished and well-reputed leaders and diplomats during Pakistan's freedom movement.

Mowlana Sultan Muhammed Shah: The Devoted Champion Of Islam
When "The Times", London, made some unfair allegations against Islam and the Muslims in a leading article in October 1951, Mowlana Sultan Muhammed Shah sent a spirited reply to the newspaper, which was published in its issue of November 6, 1951. He explained that it was because of the spirit of tolerance of Islam that even the smallest Christian and Jewish minorities survived and kept all their doctrines during the thousand years of Muslim rule.
