QAYAM DAYAM TU MORO

Pir Shams

You are ever present, O my Lord!

But only a few live by Your name ...1

O momins! Muhammad is the true Prophet;

And promises the true believers will fulfilled ...2

O momins! When you will be tested

Half of you will remain firm on Farmans of the Lord ...3

O momins! True believers will be rewarded

for their good deeds;

Whereas non-believers will weep for their bad deeds ...4

O momins! Even if one lives for a hundred years

One day one has to die ...5

O momins! Says Pir Shams, the Kind-Hearted

Only that happens which our Lord desires ...6

KAYA NI BEDI APNA SATGURSU RAKHOJI

Pir Sadardeen

Keep in control of the boat (our body) into the hands

of the true Guide.

And by checking the mind, from going astray preserve our soul.

The world is like a sea, a great sea.

The sea is full to the brim between both banks.

(In which) Those who lack the power of the spiritual earning,

How would they get safely across to the other bank? ...1

In spite of the Lord's presence being in the world, those who did not take the Lord's name;

They have taken themselves (the so-called spiritual guides)

are not perfect,

how could they get strength to go ashore? ...2

...3

Give up misdeeds and be engrossed in religious affection;

By this God's loving joy shall be bestowed on you. ...4

How can those dealers of cheap groceries like hing??? know the high value of jewels like ruby?

They (speak of big things) are sweet in their tongue but worthless in their hearts. ...5

When water receded, big ships get struck up into sands and remain far from the shore. So only small canoes which can play in shallow waters can go to every house. ...6

When evil times get control of life, the world begins

to drown.

How would you control your affairs at that time? ...7

The interest went on piling up, and securities became insufficient, all other household articles went into the hands of the owner of the shop, as further securities to cover the increased debt. ...8

Speaking in this way, Pir Sadardeen says that those who are led in a false way will lose their sense of judgement and wander from forest without finding a way and will cry in repentence. ...9

O momins: Keep the boat of your body under the control of the

The world is like a sea. It is indeed a great sea. It is full to

O momins: If they(the false guides) themselves are not perfect,

O momins: When the level of water recedes, big ships get stuck
and remain far from the shore. However a fish will move in any
direction in pursuit of a fishing hook. Don't carry a very heavy
burden of material existence but live lightly.

excessive commitment to the material world.
