Aga Khan warns climate change will affect Muslim world 2016-11-07
Posted November 7th, 2016 by librarian-hdDubai: Climate change threatens to wipe out areas of the Islamic world within two decades, the spiritual leader of around 25 million Muslims said on Saturday.
Many of the world’s Muslims live in a “band of land” under threat from natural disasters caused by climate change, the Aga Khan told a hushed audience gathered at a Dubai hotel. “We’re beginning to see in many parts of the Muslim world … how global warming is beginning to create situations where life is at risk, where it was not at risk before.”

The venue for the winners’ ceremony, the Al Jahili fort in Al-Ain, was also announced by His Excellency Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport and a member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi.

Over 2,000 athletes from different parts of the world took part in the opening ceremony of weeklong Jubilee Games, an intra-community global sports event, held in Dubai on Saturday.
Jubilee Games, organised by the Ismaili Muslim community in association with the Dubai Sports Council, was attended by more than 10,000 people from more than 25 countries.

Located in Toronto, Canada, the Aga Khan Museum showcases a collection of more than 1,000 artefacts and artworks — in ceramic, metalwork, ivory, stone and wood, as well as textiles and carpets, among others — that span more than 1,000 years. The collection presents an overview of the artistry of Muslim societies from Spain to China.

The Ismaili Centre of Dubai: a monument of tolerance - 2010-10-31

A 3,000-square-metre public neighbourhood park was also created on parts of the land based on Islamic garden themes. The architecture is an amalgamation of everything that is beautiful in Islam.
