Ame Saaheb Saathe Sahel Kidhaa - Translation

AME SAHEB SATHE SAHEL KIDHA

Abdal Nabi

I came to be in the company of our Lord on that day when He, my Hazir Imam, the soul of the universe, was seated in the garden. My eternal desires were fulfilled and my heart was delighted with the union with the Lord.

...1

Our Lord did eternal favours upon me and completed (with) everything which was necessary for me. O Master! We have great hope in You for the same favour forever, even though I myself, your humble follower, is full of imperfections.

...2

Our Lord in His utmost kindness, made a gift of grapes to me, as a token of His grace. This gesture made my heart overflow with unceasing joy. Such love has been established with the supreme being Shah Qayam. How could I control the fountain of my unceasing love?

...3

Our Lord fulfilled my desires and extended His Holy hand towards me. Further, He bestowed upon me His blessings and promised His everlasting assurance to me. O my Master! Such a promise of yours is always exerting. You have realized all my spoken and unspoken desires.

...4

Evil elements have constantly been engaged in an attempt to overthrow me from my root. Under such circumstances, You come to my rescue, O my Lord! As the saviour of my existence, come and help in a similar manner, as you have helped previously your believers in the time of their adversity.

...5

In our difficulty, we can see no one except You, O Master! And we rely upon your protection only. We are left out, all alone without your intervention, and therefore, O Lord! Come and act as our protector.

...6

O my Lord! This beggar of your house says that I am dutifully associated with you from a remote period. Abdal Nabi says that our Lord has fulfilled my desires.

...7

Our Lord has completely fulfilled my desires and protected my honour; and thus He has also saved my ancestry from suffering from eternal judgement. He bestowed upon me such dvine assurance in an atmosphere filled with fragrance of flowers, agar and chandan and overflowing with divine light.

...8

(In the same manner) Queen Taaraaraani adopted by Lochanaa,

Harishchandra asks Taaraaraani: "O my Queen, I have had a dream".

Here Peer Sadardeen begins to relate the incidence which led to
King Harishchandra surrendering himself to the Divine Will. Queen
Taaraaraani used to go to the place of worship late at night after
her husband had gone to sleep. Eventually the king came to know
about the queen's secret endevours in his absence. One day the
king pretended to have gone to sleep while the Queen made
preparations to leave the place.

The queen discarded her most precious jewellary and adopted most simple religious dress.
She then went to the stable and took the most valuable horse Hanslo and left for the
place of worship. On that day the king followed her discreetly as she left.

Upon her return after the performances of all the exalted rituals,
the king questions her by relating to a dream.

Peer Sadardeen (who has composed this Geenaan), is imploring our Lord,
Haazar Imaam. "O our Lord and Master give us salvation for You are
indeed the only giver of salvation".

The incidence of King Harishchanddhra and Sati Taaraaraani is mentioned
in more detail in another geenaan by Peer Sadardeen: 'sejaaddie suto raajaa
nindhraa dharee, taaraa raani orase rayna payji' (117 verses).

Allah is the only Lord of everything, the entire world is His(or under His command).
Understand the name(attribute) of the Lord as being eternal and everlasting and
the rest is all perishable and illusory. Extract(or obtain) the Divine mysteries from
the essence of His name(by constant remembrance and contemplation).
O brother momins, be mindful about the condition of your souls and do not
condemn your souls to hell.

ejee nabee mahamad bujo bhaai, to tame paamo imaam

enlightened by Holy Qur'aan.

ejee loh kalam neet utth dekhyaa, to ek ku(n) rad-j keeyaa

fome - recollection, remembrance rad - to cancel
mukar - pagan, not belonging to a religious system

They heard(read) the words from the guarded tablet(scripture) upon rising everyday.
Then they cancelled(ignored) one of them. They expressed their opposition to the
remembrance(of the Lord) and therefore abandoned(cancelled) their earnings

Half a grain of wheat was very sweet. Adam ate that much only. He ate a granule and
therefore was placed beneath(away from) the paradise.

Mawlana Islamshaah who is the progeny of Aly is the King. Allah is indeed the Imaam.
This is taught by Peer Sadardeen and is stated (confirmed) by Peer Hassan Kabeerdeen
who says: "My momins will have an abode in paradise" (if they follow the Imaams).

ALAKH SREVO BANA HET DHARI

Pir Sadardin

O you believers serve God, the undescribable, with full submission, obedience and affection;

For the only source of our hope in His (Hazir Imam's) house.

...1

By searching and searching Pir has found the inner secret.

(The secret is that) The house of Hazir Imam is the true source.

...2

Moosa offered a feast to the Lord.

(And he) Moosa, cooked a great quantity of food, which took six months (to finish).

...3

Moosa began to prepare food and make a big collection of it;

And that was such a big collection which had no end or limit.

...4

Moosa could not recognize the unknown person,

When He came with a bronze begging a bowl in hand.

...5

Give, O Moosa, something in the name of the Lord,

I have come with a hope of receiving something.

...6

Moosa ordered his maid to give food to the beggar

The maid brought stale rice for the beggar.

...7

Moosa (then) himself sat quietly in deep meditation (of God)

(In it) He realized that it was the same person and the same bowl.

...8

If I had known the Lord would come, I would have spread silk as a carpet in the street,

(And) sprinkled sweet perfumes and scents of amber.

...9

(To persuade the Lord) Moosa himself went into the holy presence

of the Lord, "O Lord! (Please do come, otherwise) the food gets stale".

...10

The Lord said, "O Moosa, collect all the food near the water,

I will come at the late hours in the day".

...11

The Lord ordered Moosa, "Bring the food on the bank of the river".

...12

The Lord ordered the fish to eat all that food,

(And) The fish ate it (the whole lot of food) in a single morsel.

...13

The fish made a complaint of distress before the Lord,

"O Lord, not even one side of mine is filled, (and I am still hungry)".

...14

(How wonderful it is) That inside a dry rock is found a live insect with a green blade of grass in its mouth.

...15

In this sweetest Ginan, Pir Sadardin describes,

"Such is the wonderful display of the power of my Lord".
