Sadruddin Khan työskenteli pitkään Yhdistyneiden kansakuntien palveluksessa. Pakolaisavun pääkomissaari hän oli toista vuosikymmentä vuodesta 1965 lähtien.

PRINCE SADRUDDIN AGA KHAN-2003-05-13
Posted December 22nd, 2009 by librarian-apPrince Sadruddin Aga Khan, son of the late Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan and the late Princess Andrée Aga Khan, died in Boston yesterday, aged 70 after a short illness. Coincidentally, his half-brother, the late Prince Aly Khan died on exactly the same day forty-three ago. The younger of Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah's two sons, Prince Sadruddin was the uncle of the present and 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader) of the Ismaili Muslims, His Highness the Aga Khan.

AGA KHAN TO EXPAND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN WEST AFRICA-1998-03-04
Posted November 18th, 2009 by librarian-apHis Highness the Aga Khan, Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, and Ivoirian President Henri Konan Bedie yesterday signed an Accord of Co-operation for Development envisaging an expanded commitment by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) to Cote d'Ivoire. The Accord will permit the optimal utilisation of the human and financial resources of the Ismaili Imamat (office of spiritual leadership) and the AKDN for social and cultural development activities in West Africa.
The signing of the accord authorises the establishment of an AKDN mission in Cote d'Ivoire.

Death of Ismaili Muslim matriarch-2001-07-01
Posted November 17th, 2009 by librarian-apThe widow of the late spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslims, Begum Om Habibeh, has died in France at the age of ninety-four.
She was the fourth and last wife of the Aga Khan the Third who died in 1957. He is the grandfather of the present Aga Khan, Prince Karim. Begum Om Habibeh was known for her interest in women's welfare and for her work for the poor and elderly, especially in and around the city of Aswan in Egypt.

Posted November 17th, 2009 by librarian-apThe Begum Om Habibeh, widow of Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan, 48th Imam (Spiritual Leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, grandfather of the present Aga Khan, died on the first of July at Le Cannet, South of France, in her ninety-fifth year.
Born Yvette Blanche Labrousse in 1906, in Sete near Marseilles, she was the fourth and last wife of the late Aga Khan III. The couple were married in Switzerland on October 9th, 1944.

From high atop the Citadel dominating one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and out of its ornate Throne Room, the enchanting melodies of Ahmed Adnan Saygun, Johann Sebastian Bach, Maurice Ravel, Franghiz Ali-Zadeh and Kayhan Kalhor this evening recreated an age-old memory of the interaction of cultures for which the Silk Road is remembered.

2001 Aga Khan Award for Architecture Ceremony-2001-11-06
Posted November 17th, 2009 by librarian-apAt a ceremony held in Syria at the historical Citadel of Aleppo, His Highness the Aga Khan announced the nine recipients of the 2001 Aga Khan Award for Architecture, and presented a special Chairman's Award to the Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. The occasion completed the eighth cycle of the programme, which has a triennial prize fund of US$ 500,000, making it the world's largest architectural award. The Award programme will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2003.

The Aga Khan and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa Miro also signed a Framework Development Agreement between the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and Syria. The Agreement will facilitate the effective functioning and optimum utilisation of the human and financial resources that the AKDN would mobilise for Syria. It also establishes an AKDN Representation Office in Damascus.

Aga Khan Announces First Ismaili Centre in Central Asia-2003-08-30

The Ismaili Centre, Dushanbe, when completed, will be comparable in scope and standing to existing major centres in London, Vancouver and Lisbon and those at advanced planning stages in Toronto and Dubai.
