Aga Khan Studs Blueblood Vadinska Routs Rivals in TDN Rising Star Display at Saint-Cloud

Date:
Thursday, 2025, May 1

Francis-Henri Graffard and owners Aga Khan look to have a very exciting prospect on their hands after Vadinska (Kodiac) strolled to an effortless ten-length debut success in the Prix Fourire (Newcomers) at Saint-Cloud on Thursday. The 1 600 meters contest for three-year-old fillies who hadn’t had a run looked like a solid contest on paper, with top stables represented and interesting pedigrees on display. However, it was turned into an absolute procession by Vadinska, who put up a massive performance under Mickael Barzalona. The daughter of Kodiac, who was always handily positioned throughout the 1 600 meters contest, ranged up to the leaders travelling strongly passing the 500 meters marker. A brief shake of the reins saw her shoot into an unassailable advantage, with Barzalona merely having to push her out hands and heels to extend ten-lengths clear of Ampola. City Bay finished a remote third.
Second dam Vaderana produced Vadeni, winner of the 2022 Prix du Jockey Club (Gr.1) and Eclipse Stakes (Gr.1), second in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr.1) and third in the Irish Championship Stakes (Gr.1).
