Ottawa, Canada: HH The Aga Khan came to Ottawa, Canada for a short private visit to sign a funding agreement for the Global Centre for Pluralism to be established in partnership with the Government of Canada. He also held other meetings related to the Global Centre for Pluralism and other major Imamat projects in Canada. At 4:00 p.m. Prime Minister Stephen Harper met with His Highness the Aga Khan at the House of Commons. After the signing, they had dinner at the PM's residence at 24 Sussex Dr.

It was just eighteen months ago that the Government of Canada announced its decision to partner with the Ismaili Imamat and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in our Global Centre for Pluralism. What we welcomed at that time was a multi-faceted partnership—financial, yes, but also institutional and intellectual.
