The announcement was made today by Prince Amyn Aga Khan, brother of His Highness, at an international donor conference, convened by the Government of Pakistan, and attended by President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, and high level delegations from multilateral agencies and more than 56 countries.

ISLAMABAD: Expressing deep concern over escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, Prince Rahim Aga Khan, known as the Aga Khan V, has formally offered to mediate between the two countries to help defuse the situation and prevent further loss of life.

According to a foreign news agency, Prince Rahim has sent letters to the Prime Ministers of both Pakistan and India, urging both sides to pursue a peaceful resolution.

Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America (OPEN), Aga Khan University and a Pakistani multinational pharmaceutical company on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support startups by young entrepreneurs that solve today's challenges in healthcare and medical education. The MoU was signed by Firoz Rasul, the AKU president and Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed, OPEN (Karachi Chapter) president, who is also director of the PharmEvo's Digital Health and Strategic Projects.

New Delhi, Mar 20: The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is working in 30 countries. In India, AKDN activities span the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. In a conversation with Zee News, on the sidelines of the Zee Literature Festival, Matt Reed, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aga Khan Foundation (UK) and of AKDN, said his organisation hopes to create pathways of adaptability and development through education.
