When people of a distinctive faith or culture feel economically powerless or inherit clear injustice from which they cannot escape, or find their traditions and values engulfed culturally, and their societies maligned as bleak and unjust ...they risk becoming the victims of those who would gain power by perverting an open, fluid, pluralistic tradition of thought and belief into something closed and insular.'
'It would be wrong to see this as the future of the Ummah.'

Prime Minister, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Saturday said that the present government has convincingly showed that it is committed to upgrading and reforming the education sector.
'New education initiatives are being implemented that will enhance primary school enrolment, increase training opportunities for teachers and school administrators, spread literacy and encourage public-private partnership for education. Within these programmes many opportunities exist for cooperation between the government and the Aga Khan University'.

Detailed Schedule of Programme(a) Thursday Dec 04, 2003 at 3.30 pm: Tree plantation for Name Facility donors only.
(b) Friday Dec 05, 2003: Dinner at Hotel Marriott (Pool side) at 8:30 pm (by invitation) in honour of visiting donors and their gussets who are attending the Convocation or any other donor events at Karachi. This is as per eligibility criteria applied for Convocation and/or donor events. The dinner is being hosted bythe AKU Resource Development Committee for Pakistan (Ismaili).
