SA(N)VAT CHAUD SO NE BAAVAN - BY PEER HASSAN KABEERDEEN

ejee sa(n)vat chaud so ne baavan, ane aasaaddh nu(n) re maas;

taareekh sataramee-e aavee, ane aavee te loddhaa nee bhee(n)t.....1

It was the year VS 1452, and the month of Asadh. It appeared on the seventeenth date of the month, and it was a wall of iron which appeared.

ejee teeyaa(n) gure aradaasaj keedhee, ane keedhee te maas chha maas;

chha maas ne chha deen jeeyaare puraa thayaa, taare nar jee thayaa maher-baan........................................................2

There the Guide prayed intensely, for months, for six months. When six months and six days had passed, the Imam became merciful.

ejee tere seeree eesalaam shaahaa nu(n) avataar kahee-e,

ane kahee-e te kahek mee(n)jhaar;

taare paa(n)ch varas ne paa(n)ch deen naa gur thayaa,

bhaaee taare thayaate taeeyaar...........................3

It is told that the Lord Islam Shah was the manifestation of the age, and that he was in Kahak. At that time the Guide was five years and five days old, o brother, then he was prepared.

ejee sa(n)vat chaud so ne trepan, ane maagasar nu(n) re maas;

taare aakaddaa maa(n)he thee paagaddee keedhee,

valee keedhee te re taeeyaar.....................4

It was the year VS 1453, and the month of Maghsar. Then he made a turban-cloth from swallow-wort, and then prepared it.

ejee te paa(n)ch so gaj nee paagaddee, te vannee potaa ne haath;

te maa(n)he seephat lakhee shaahaa tannee,

bhaaee pote thayaa taeeyaar.......................5

The turban-cloth was five hundred yards long, and he wove it himself by hand. He wrote the praises of the Lord upon it, o brother, and was ready himself.

ejee saamee ame tamaaraa daas chhaee-e,

ane chhaee-e tamaaraa re baal;

anat karoddee nu(n) paap utaaro, em kahe gur daataar..............6

'O Master, I am your disciple and I am your child. Take away the sins of the countless crores.' Thus the generous Guide spoke.

ejee e paagaddee laee jaare chaaleeyaa,

taare aal potaa nee nahee(n);

ek varas ne deen paa(n)ch maa(n)he,

gur jee aaveeyaa paachhaa pharee.......7

When he took the turban there, he had no children of his own. In one year and five days, the Guide came back again.

ejee taare baar karoddee darage potaa,

te potaa peer sadar deen ne saath;

te chhatthe aasamaane jaee raheeyaa,

bhaaee te juve chhe chhelaa nee vaatt.8

Then the twelve crores reached the Court in the company of Peer Sadardeen himself, they went to dwell in the sixth heaven, o brother, there to await the arrival of the remaining ones.

ejee chhelaa je veeraa jeevaddaa, te to peer kabeer deen ne saath;

jap tap am tannu(n) raakhajo, annat tannu(n) e veechaar...........9

The souls which remain, o brother, are with Peer Kabeerdeen. 'Maintain our remembrance and piety', is the thought of the myriad ones.

ejee annat karoddee naa gur hasan kabeer deen aaveeyaa,

ane aaveeyaa te husenee nu(n) pareevaar;

e gur saacho jaannajo,

nahee(n) kaa(n) paddaso te ghodd a(n)dhaar......10

Peer Hasan Kabeerdeen has come for the myriad crores, he has come from the family of Husain. Know that he is the True Guide, or else you will fall into utter darkness.

ejee sa(n)vant chaud so ne baavan, ane ramajaan no re maas;

taare seeree eesalaam shaahaa aaveeyaa,

ne aavee betthaa te kahek mee(n)jhaar.........11

It was the year VS 1452, and the month of Ramazan. Then the Lord Islam Shah had come to dwell in Kahak.

ejee te aale thee budar alee aaveeyaa,

ane aaveeyaa te shaahaa ne avataar;

veerachaa shaher maa(n) aavee takhat rachaayaa,

ane rachaayaa te shaahaa ne avataar.....12

From his descendants came Abu Zar Ali as the manifestation of the Lord. He came and established his throne in the city of Virchha, establishing himself as the manifestation of the Lord.

ejee julphikaar alee aaveeyaa, ane aaveeyaa te shaahaa ne avataar;

te budar alee nee aal kahee-e, ane te kahee-e husenee nee aal....13

Zulfikaar Alee then came as the manifestation of the Lord. He was known as the descendant of Abu Zar Ali, and as the descendant of Husain.

ejee sa(n)vant pa(n)dar so ne boter, ane phaagann nu(n) re maas;

taareekh baaveesamee-e aaveeyaa,

ane aaveeyaa te veerachaa maa(n)he shaah........14

It was the year VS 1572, and the month of phalgun. The Lord came on the twenty-second date of the month, and entered Vircha.

ejee te daadde nar aaveeyaa, ane aaveeyaa te tenne re tthaar;

nur shaahaa aavee takhate re betthaa,

ane betthaa te shaahaa ne avataar...........15

On that day the Imam came, and entered that place. Nur Shah came and ascended the throne, and ascended as the embodimentof the Lord.

ejee gur kahe eveeyu(n) avataar nee vaatu(n) ka(n)theeu(n),

ane ka(n)theeu(n) te u(n)ch mee(n)jhaar;

saat u(n)ch maa(n)he sar u(n)ch kahee-e,

bhaaee tenu(n) kahu(n) e(n)dhaann.......16

The Guide uttered these accounts of the manifestations, and uttered them in Uch. Of the seven Uches say that Uch is the highest, o brother, I tell you its sign.

ejee dejo daso(n)d ne maanajo, ane e chhe alee avataar;

e thakee je bhulashe, te nahee(n) paamashe sarag duaar...........17

Offer the tithe and believe in him, for he is the manifestation of Ali. Those who stray from him will not attain the gates of heaven.

ejee peer hasan kabeer deen boleeyaa,

ane boleeyaa te apane re gher;

saachaa thaeene re chaalajo, to paamasho sarag maa(n)he vaas.....18

Peer Hasan Kabeerdeen has uttered this, and uttered it in his own house. If you proceed in truthfulness, you will find a dwelling-place in heaven.

SAHEBJI TU MORE MAN BHAVE

Sayyed Muhammadshah

O my Lord! You are the one I adore

None else comes into my mind except You

None else is dearer to me, O Lord

You are the one I adore ...1

Whatever I ask is granted by You

You do "spoil" me O Lord ...2

I've passed through the four ages searching

But no one can be compared with you ...3

Come, O friends! Let us go in quest

(spiritually) of the Lord,

The Lord whom I have met ...4

The Lord, whose absence even for a second

makes my life most miserable,

(With His blessing) visits my heart

(and adds to my happiness) ...5

Those who have found such a Lord

How can they call themselves unhappy? ...6

Do not blame the merciful Lord for your misfortunes

For we are rewarded according to our deeds ...7

Ram and Raheman are one and the same

It is the ignorant who does not understand this ...8

Sayyed Muhammadshah says: O Lord! I submit myself

For where can I get such loving protection

(except from You) ...9
