NDMA and Aga Khan Foundation Sign MoU for Housing Development Initiatives 2024-10-31
KABUL (BNA): Alhajj, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, Acting Head of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Esmatullah Esmati, Legal and Communications Officer of the Aga Khan Foundation for Habitat.
According to a statement release from the National Disaster Management Authority, based on this agreement, the Aga Khan Foundation for Habitat will implement a program worth over 565,000 U.S. dollars, providing food aid to nearly 19,000 eligible families across 11 districts in Badakhshan province.
During the signing, the head of the National Disaster Management Authority stated that organizations conduct surveys or distributions in each province. In coordination with I.E.A. principles and framework, the foundation collaborates with them, as it has offices in each province and works with relief organizations.
The Legal and Communications Officer of the Aga Khan Foundation for Habitat added that this organization assists people in various fields. Currently, it is distributing food aid worth over 565,000 U.S. dollars, funded by the World Food Programme, across 11 districts in Badakhshan. These districts include Argo, Ishkashim, Khowhan, Darwaz Bala, Darwaz Payin, Zebak, Shekay, Shughnan, Wakhan, Warduj, and Kofab.
This aid includes 50 kg of flour, 4.5 liters of oil, 6.5 kg of split peas, 0.5 kg of salt, and nutritional supplements for children and lactating mothers.
