Prince Amyn Aga Khan

Prince Amyn Aga Khan is a lifelong supporter of cultural heritage in all its forms. He obtained a bachelor’s from Harvard University and a master’s from Harvard’s GSAS while studying in parallel at the New England Conservatory of Music. In 1964, he joined the United Nations Secretariat in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and later joined the Aga Khan’s Secretariat.

Today, Prince Amyn is a member of the board of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development and is chairman of its executive committee. He is also a director of the Aga Khan Foundation and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, and chairman of the executive committee of the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto.

Prince Amyn has served as a trustee of World Monuments Fund since 1997. He is a director of the Silk Road Project and a member of the Council of the Friends of the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum’s Visiting Committee of the Department of Islamic Art, and the Museum of Modern Art’s International Council. Prince Amyn has been active in the creation and design of the Serena Hotels and Lodges and many other historic and contemporary buildings and gardens.
