Aga Khan favours reconstruction of Afghanistan

BERLIN: 'Social and economic reconstruction must be based first on the engendering of hope and trust in new, realistic opportunities' and the need to 'build for the continuity of such efforts by the beneficiaries themselves.'

RIA Novosti. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in the session of the International Conference on Afghanistan held in Berlin. The first day of the conference which opened on March 31 was devoted to the economic rehabilitation of the country, while on the second day delegates from 50 countries and ten organisations will discuss security, law, reforms and future challenges to Afghanistan.
