The 2020 World Habitat Awards, an event that recognizes and highlights innovative housing ideas, projects, and programs that contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of people around the world, was celebrated virtually on October 12, 2021. The awards are organized by World Habitat, a nonprofit organization that works internationally to promote housing solutions in partnership with UN-HABITAT. Since its first edition in 1986, over 250 projects have been identified and celebrated around the world.

No fewer than three of this year?s overseas finalists in the Ashden Awards are micro-hydro projects. From the Hindu Kush to the slopes of Mount Kenya, the hills are flowing with power ? as evidenced by these Ashden Awards finalists.Pakistan?s North West Frontier is hardly the place most people would go looking for a good news story ?

A function was held to celebrate the Ashden Award received by AKRSP Chitral in London, at a Local Hotel here. DCO Chitral Presided over the function while District Nazim Shahzada Muhyuddin was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest congratulated AKRSP and the communities involved in establishing micro hydels on receiving Ashden award. It was a great achievement for AKRSP and its attached Communities and honor for Chitral and Pakistan, he said.
