AGA KHAN SEEKS U.S. TO HELP SPREAD CULTURAL PLURALISM - 2000-12-02
The Aga Khan, spiritual leader to over 60 million Ismailis worldwide, the majority of them in India, Pakistan, East Africa and North America, has exhorted the U.S. to use its foreign policy to help spread cultural pluralism, particularly that of developing nations. The Aga Khan, who was the kick-off speaker at the first-ever White House Conference on Culture and Diplomacy, declared 'American foreign policy could have a significant impact on the pluralism of culture around the world.'
