You will reap according to what you sow, and that will happen in this world. Those who have reaped without sowing, show them to me says the Guide. O living one, do not be proud as many lakhs of crores have come and gone in this worldly passage.

Through single mindedness brother, conviction of the heart/mind is achieved. With such a mind they worshipped heartily. In such a straight course were the five pandavas, who worshipped religion heartily.

They used to wear clothes made of silk and had love for delightful food symbolised by rice pudding and sugar. (For the sake of truth) they were sold having bundles of grass tied on their heads. This was the plight of King Harischchandra, Queen Taaraarani and their son Roheedas.

OOTHI ALLAH NA GHURRE BANDA

Pir Shams

O slave of God! Wake up since God does not like you to sleep all night. Neither (you) care for soul, O slave! Nor prepare provision (for hereafter). The Lord loves only those who rise in dawn (for meditation). The hurries (special heavenly blessings) will not give their hands to those who do not rise at dawn. Such (lazy) will (later) repent, smearing their hands, just as a (lazy) farmer misses the sowing season....1

O servant! Your pillow (body) is lying on thorns (material desires). Looking at the red flowers (attraction of the world), do not lose (your) aim (for coming in the world)....2

The spinning woman has spun when people slept. She spun much cotton alone, thoroughly....3

Everybody will be illiterate and nobody in the world will understand. Each one would have the knowledge of (wearing) the clothes and dresses, but nobody will have the knowledge (of reality). Those who come wearing silken clothes would be worshipped as God. O Brothers! Beware in advance and consider these ten facts to be true. When the world is deprived of prosperity, love modesty like there are (all the) ten things, it will be an indication of the appearance of doomsday. Pir Shams, the darwish also imparts likewise: The time for the appearance of the Lord is matured .....4

UTH JAAG MAN MERA

Imam Begum

Wake up O my mind, why are you asleep
(surrounded by the world and cut off from religious truth)
This human form is a precious gem, why do you lose it (waste it)
Wake up...1

O you find this body and its traps (the material world)
very beautiful and fall in love with it
Why do you take pride in your material affairs,
Wake up...2

Thirty-five and twenty-five, sixteen and eight
you have come and gone eighty-four times
Have you not yet learned (of your purpose of life on this earth?)
Wake up...3

You have come and gone so many times
and having taken human form
Your Lord knows of all (your doings)
Wake up...4

O what do I tell you O my mind, are you not ashamed,
Diamonds, jewels and pearls (the best value of life)
You are wasting out of your ignorance,
Wake up...5

Remember your Lord every breath and be steadfast on truth
Your body, mind, concentration on Isme-Azam (bol) must be unitedly centered
on one point (in concentration, bandagi)
Wake up...6

When your breath starts from the naval (diaphragm)
It travels up the curved path (to the passage of the nostrils)
At the meeting of the ingla, pingla and sushumna passages
(which is said to be in the forehead at the base of the brain),
there is the tenth heaven (this point is said to be
the tenth heaven)
the concentration becomes stable,
Wake up...7

Twenty-one thousand and six hundred breaths
you loose in a day
What have you earned (at the expense of all these breaths?)
Wake up...8

So says Imam Begum listen
For the sake of the true teacher give up your vanity,
Wake up...9
