The Aga Khan, Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, is flanked by Mali's Prime Minister Ahmed Mohamed Hamani (on the right) and Mr Abdramane Ben Essayouti, the Imam of Djingereiber mosque in Timbuktu. The Aga Khan, on an official visit, noted Mali's considerable cultural and intellectual heritage.
