The Department of Posts will bring out a set of two postage stamps to commemorate the Ninth Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The two stamps in the denomination of fifteen rupees each feature the Agra Fort. The 2004 Aga Khan Award for Architecture stamps depict three views from different angles of Khas Mahal (Private Palace) built entirely of marble by Shah Jahan in 1637. The stamps will be released at Agra by the Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology, Dr.

The prestigious Aga Khan award for architecture will be presented at a glittering ceremony in the gardens of Humayun's Tomb here Saturday afternoon.
The high-profile award presentation ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Aga Khan, ministers, top diplomats, architects and bureaucrats.

The award, established in 1977 by the Aga Khan, the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, to enhance the understanding and appreciation of Islamic culture as expressed through architecture, is presented every three years.

The presentation ceremony of the 2004 Aga Khan Award for Architecture will be held at the Gardens of Humayun's Tomb, on November 27, at 4.30 pm, followed by a banquet at Arab-ki-Serai.

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, His Highness The Aga Khan, Union ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, guests and prominent international and Indian architects will attend the ceremony.
